I called in an order through a third party food delivery service to bring Agave Loco to my house. After getting the food, I noticed that the order was wrong. The delivery took about an hour (which I knew ahead of time and did not bother me) so I didn't call the delivery service to pick the food up and have them take it back to Agave Loco, then wait another hour or so for the second delivery. Instead I went to the restaurant and spoke with the person at the front desk, who happened to be the manager of Agave Loco. I showed him the receipt of what the order should be. He took the food back, I waited a few minutes, and he came back. The food was wrong again. I showed the manager the receipt again about how the order should be, then he argued with me saying "that is not what you told me." He took the food back and brought it out again, and it is STILL WRONG. He took it back a third time to try and get it right. This time, he left an entire item out of the order. The manager showed me the menu at the restaurant and I showed him the item that was not in the to-go-bag. At that point, I was ready to go and could not waste anymore time there. I get back home, open the food, and under the cheese dip that was poured over the food, I find that there is ANOTHER item missing. What was ordered as a burrito, (the only item from my order that appeared to be right) turned out to actually a big pepper wrapped in a tortilla. So, that is now all items in the order wrong. The manager of Agave Loco argued with me, told me that I am wrong, replaced my food three times incorrectly, removed two items completely, and finally replaced a bean burrito with pepper wrapped in a tortilla and hid it under cheese dip. When the food is right and you have a competent waiter/waitress, the food is actually good, but my experience tonight was so bad that I am really urging people to be weary of the manager and how they treat...
Read moreA big-time Mexican food lover, so i’m always about the authenticity of the food and the environment in which it is served. First, this a nice restaurant—clean and well designed, with seating divided in such a way that it’s not just a single open area cattle-call. Noise is at a minimum, so a great atmosphere where you can talk, even in a larger group. Service was great, with friendliness from the front door to conversing with our server, who readily answered questions with a polite smile. From our orders to To-go boxes and a bag, he was attentive and efficient. The six of us ordered many different dishes, from enchiladas to tacos and fajitas. All was good, with quality tortillas, both corn and flour, and cheese and sauces very tasty. I recommend the flaming cheese fajitas! Some disappointments: A large queso wasn't much bigger than a teacup, and they didn't serve mole. Even if you don't like mole yourself, it's an easy tell on authenticity—know that no Mexican will be eating there if they don't serve mole. Nothing wrong with a good gringo restaurant, though a bit on the mid-quality side: Hamburger fillings and no shredded beef options, no option for fresh sliced jalapenos (jalapenos were pickled), tortilla chips weren't served warm, etc. But all in all, a good, reasonable priced restaurant with lots of food options and a...
Read moreI was really excited to try this place given the reviews, but this was one of the worst Mexican restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. I’ll preface by saying they were very busy because of the football game but this could have been handled better. First, our server was also visibly rude when my older father asked him for something. The chips, salsa and queso were lackluster - lacking any flavor. Had the service been better, we would have overlooked this. We never even got our meal after sitting there for an hour, nor did our server come to tell us what was going on. This place charges for your 2nd batch of chips and salsa, yet he couldn’t even come bring us more, which we would have happily paid for. We paid eye contact with our server, who blatantly ignored us. Finally, we had to get up to check on our food and were told it would be another 15-20 mins (after an hour of being seated) - no apology, nothing. We decided to leave and the manager was apologetic, but they still charged us for chips and salsa which should have been complimentary...
