Ok... Soooo.... Here's MY take on this new place... Definite potential, without a doubt! The food is absolutely amazing, and the drinks are definitely over poured... While I, and many others, will I'm sure, appreciate... 🤣🤷♀️ We learned some things in bartending school that I now can't unsee.. Regulation lol 🙃😄 Now I find myself watching everyone and how they pour... 🤣🤦♀️ The Service?? It's a learning curve, they JUST opened... The waitress I encountered was amazing.. The other waitress? Not so much... BUT, check this out!? After waiting 20 minutes, being unacknowledged, I asked the waitress if I could order a drink, because they blatantly weren't even trying to make eye contact, although only standing a foot away... Her response was... "I'm sorry I can't, it has to come from "him", he won't "let" us help, he wants to do it all himself... wait, serve, bartend"... Ummmm, what?!? ... Soooo I waited, and waited, and continued to wait... FINALLY after 30 minutes of waiting, and not even being acknowledged, the AWESOME waitress, who is not "allowed" to help Super Man, went and told him I was waiting to order... only 10 minutes later did he come through 🙄 Another 20 minutes after THAT did he come through to place my order for food 😳 ... They ALL have AMAZING energy here, and I DO know, this is a learning curve, BUT, he should "allow" his staff to "help" when he's overwhelmed... NOT try to do it all and fail... I almost left, that's how you lose customers... Although I did, not everyone dines in, having "time"... So my advice to you.. The consumer, as of today anyways... If you want quicker service? sit at a table, NOT the bar nor the sushi bar, which is where I decided to sit... The owner wants to do EVERYTHING himself at the bars, and won't "allow" the others to step in and help when needed... People were also sitting at a bar that hadn't even been cleaned off yet... Dirty glasses in front of them, dirty counter top... A definite NO GO... This is just MY take... I'm blunt and honest... I know when starting off, there's a LOT to learn... Again, The people ARE great and the food IS amazing!! Sooooo... I wish them the very BEST! and I WILL absolutely be back to try them again sometime!! 😋 #HotAndSourSoup #LobsterTempuraRoll ❤ #IWishYouSuccess...
Read moreI've heard a lot of great things, so I went in with high expectations, which I wish I hadn't. The food was ok, but the service from the waitress was quite bad that amazing food maybe could have made up for, but just ok food and a terrible waitress left me not wanting to go back. I don't want to be agist, but the 80 year old white lady seemed like she'd be better off in a diner than a nice restaurant. She was very slow, confused, and had a bad attitude. She also had poor food handling where she literally stuck her finger in our food while carrying it and touched the inside of our to-go containers when giving them to us. She also reached over us to combine our 2 appetizers onto 1 plate in the middle of our meal to take away one of the plates which was just rude and not necessary. The other woman at the counter had to do half the waitresses job for her because she was so slow and she seemed annoyed by it. I'm sorry but you guys should probably just let her go! She really ruined the meal for us. The gyozas were unevenly cooked some were slightly overcooked. The crab Rangoon were sweet which I don't prefer and didn't taste like crab at all, plus the wrappers were really thick and too firm. The General Gaus chicken was the best dish we got, it was at least pretty decent. The Hunan chicken was just ok, didn't have much flavor other than salt. There are other places I would rather go to for eat in or take our experiences that I dont see myself going back unless I'm with someone who really wants to go then maybe I'd give it a second chance. The tables are also very close together so if you have someone annoying or noisy nearby, there's no getting away from having to listen to their conversation. And no background music to drown them out with either. The cute sashimi platter we saw in person...
Read moreAs one who enjoys Chinese cuisine and all that goes with it. I had started to grow tired of visiting the same local Chinese restaurants over and over. The Covid pandemic put a halt to the Chinese Buffets I and many others like yourselves enjoyed.
This past week with help from "Google". I was drawn to the site of the "Bar One and Sushi Bar Restaurant at 850 Southbridge St. Auburn, Ma.
I have been by this establishment numerous times and have never noticed it. Mostly due to being in the heavy traffic of RT.20 and because it is somewhat hidden in its location.
Review: Being in a small plaza. It does not severely effect capacity. Inside decor is very nicely done and not overdone. The bar area and seating is also nicely done. Our waitress was attentive and eager to serve. She gave us a warm smiling welcome as we informed her this was our first time there. Arriving there at about 5:15 proved to be a smart call. As more people arrived soon. My House Special Lo Mein was very good. The portion and price is very reasonable. My Lo Mein was much darker than other places I visited. The overall taste was very good. I was a little disappointed in the flavoring of the Egg Roll. Remember, we all like different foods and have different taste. Our chicken teriyaki was charred. Perhaps it was over cooked too long or it is how they make it. It did not look appealing. But whether or not it was an accident or made that way. I enjoyed each one of them. The crunch and flavor was addictive for me.
Will definitely be returning with...
