Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf youāre thinking about ordering from El Dorado Mexican Restaurant, let me do you a favor, donāt.
I placed and paid for my order online. Showed up, expecting a simple handoff. Instead, Iām told my foodās already been picked up. Confused, I show them proofāorder confirmation, payment, timestamp, everything. Their response? No apology. No solution. Just a shrug and ācome back later when the managerās here.ā
Not only did they refuse to remake the food, but the staff also got aggressive. One slammed money on the counter like I had done something wrongāfor asking for the food I PAID for. The energy was dismissive, disrespectful, and frankly, racist. I was treated like a problem instead of a paying customer.
The staff member also claimed āa Black guy came and picked up your foodāāas if that justified the situation. This was completely inappropriate, racially charged, and felt like an attempt to both excuse the mistake and deflect blame by invoking racial profiling.
And hereās the kicker: after I walked out, I get a message saying my order is ready for pickup. So which is it? You gave it away, or you lied to my face to avoid responsibility?
You donāt play with peopleās money, time, or dignity. But apparently, El Dorado does.
I will never return, and if you value being treated like a human being, I suggest you donāt either.
UPDATE: I find it odd how the transaction magically disappeared from my bank....

Iād also like to add that out waitress was AMAZING and honestly deserves to not work at such a piece of trash establishment. Five stars for HER alone. My friend and I order a medium Jarrito which was something we could split. We were told it was a mixture of 3 tequilas lime juice w tajin. But drinking it tasted like straight WATER. I could taste the tajin and that there was tequila in there, but it had absolutely no flavor. We asked if we could send it back and get something else...we were told we could not and would not be able to get that taken off our bill. The manager came out and proceeded to tell us the same thing, but corrected her by saying that if we sent the drink back that we would not be able to get another drink and we received a mini lesson on Alabama liquor taxes. I have never experienced this with any other establishment in Auburn, AL even if it came to a drink I didnāt like. We finally get our food after struggling to eat their watered down salsa and I get halfway through my āburritoā (it looked like a giant enchilada) and thereās BEEF in my CHICKEN burrito. In which I donāt eat beef at all. I immediately called for the check and thanked the waitress and left. The worst experience Iāve ever had in this town and I warn other to never go here. Bad food, even...
