I was initially skeptical about a seafood restaurant in this non-coastal area, but Shrimp Basket proved me wrong! Despite being away from the sea, the food was remarkably fresh and delicious. I craved a taste of the sea without the travel, and this place delivered🌊

I regret not trying it sooner! My friends and I all left satisfied with our meals. I ordered the Boil for Two (Garlic Butter & Cajun Style) with a medium spice level, the Oyster Basket, and Seafood Gumbo with Rice. Each dish was a delightful experience of flavors🦐🦀🦪🍛

The seafood was cooked to perfection, and the seasoning added just the right amount of kick🔥 The Boil for Two was a highlight, with the garlic butter and Cajun blend creating a mouthwatering combination. The Oyster Basket was fresh, and the Seafood Gumbo was rich and hearty🩷

Damm…I Pleasantly sat at the bar As the nice young lady that I am, and ordered one drink while I waited on a Togo order I had just placed. I was the only person there besides the elderly couple that was already eating. I ordered pasta and coconut shrimp. Why did it take over 30 minutes for me to get that? I wasn’t in a hurry but it still took that long to get my food.. and when I got it, my shrimp was hard as rocks and black as coal and my pasta tasted like it was three days old. I didn’t have to pay for that and I shouldn’t have. But I also should’ve checked it before I did pay. I told them I was staying at the hotel next-door and they didn’t even give me any silverware. I also tipped . I gave every dollar I had in my pocket. So I’m trying to see why the service that I was giving, was The worst I’ve ever had……? That’s money I could’ve spent somewhere else on food that would actually nourish my body. This is food that goes into peoples bodies… Your job should be taken seriously. Especially when service is very slow there’s no excuse for reason why my food was nasty as it was. You need to do something about your cooks. Tell them they need to do better as...

I have never had a great experience at Shrimp Basket. Either the service is awful...the food is mediocre....or something else was just wrong. This was no different. It wasnt horrible, but it wasnt fabulous. 6 PM on a Tuesday and there were 2 other tables being used. That should have been a clue. We ordered coconut shrimp and tail on gulf shrimp. These came with a side, cole slaw, hushpuppies and a corn fritter. Our sides were good, fries and okra. The slaw was good. The hushpuppies were very good. The corn fritters were probably cooked the previous century, frozen and reheated as needed. Gummy and not appealing at all. My wife was brave and took a bite or hers, then promptly spit it out. I wasnt nearly as adventurous. The coconut shrimp was average, at best. Obviously frozen. The Fried Shrimp were very good.

In the past, we have had issues with Shrimp Basket, this location and others. Every time, we say we wont go back and stick to that, for a couple years, then give it another chance. We are disappointed every time. SMH. See...
