Man oh man, I knew better but I got tricked by another location near by that had great fresh food a few days prior as I was traveling the same route... truck driver problems. So I was motivated for waffle house again. But I was reminded to never get too comfortable. I wanted to try the same location as before, but missed my exit so I got off the highway at the very next exit...yep there's one on every exit seems like.
I arrived to an empty parking lot. Ghost town inside. Three employees inside goofing off like the three stooges. I was already nervous. I went inside and placed my order and also requested fresh toast with my order.
Now let me say before they get to lying, some locations do have pre-made toast, and it be burnt. I'm not sure if that's something that they do to keep busy when the place is empty. But adding old cold toast to fresh scrambled eggs and hash is so trifling! So here I am not knowing what this location does...so I asked for fresh toast. Cashier tries to make a joke out of it when calling the order out to the cook. Then they all try to add their little 2 cents. I didn't care because I said what I said! But I see how all those waffle house fights be popping up on Instagram. Anyway, I had more important things to worry about than their slick comments. I sat and waited... suddenly all tree 🌲🌲🌲of them (iykyk)are hoovering over the stove where the cook is finishing up my food, blocking my view. Then suddenly the cashier pops out and starts to bag my order. It felt hot enough to burn my hand, so I knew it was freshly made enough. I grab my food and headed one exit down to bucees for fuel. I took a lil break and what do you know...burnt toast that had been scraped. I mean, what the heck! Waffle houses must not require anybody anywhere to know how to make toast! I will admit my other items were fresh but again... freshly made burnt toast is more trifling than the pre-made burnt! Always check your food...they don't even know how...
Read moreIt wont let you give it a 0 star. So I will show you what I wrote to their corporate office. I will let you know I have been going to Waffle House with my wife for a long long time. We were on our way back from Orlando Florida today on our way to Birmingham to get to our hotel for the evening then back to Belleville Illinois tomorrow. So we thought we would get off and eat at the Waffle House at 2167 S College in Auburn Al. We got the address off the mail box. This was the worst experience and worst food we have ever had. Our waitress was all but friendly, there were 3 of us and all of our food was charred and over cooked. I ate my chared burger and hashbrowns becau5im a diabetic and had to eat. My wife's food was so chared she couldnt stomach it any more. Pictures to follow. The diet coke was flat, trash flowing out of the trash can in the vestibule, and someone's nasty dirty work gloves lying on the floor. We have never had this kind of experience with Waffle House. Did we mention it to the server, we did not because she seemed not to want to even be there. Please train your cook there at the time we were there. I never saw so much over cooked food in my life.
Thank...
Read moreI wouldn't advise any POC to go here. Not only will you receive prejudice service from the WP there but also your own as well. They have a sign up stating they only do To Go orders 9p to 6a but I just left there and I couldn't sit and have a nice lunch with my husband. But I noticed they allowed 8 different older WP sit and eat. When I asked how long theyd have it this way the BW said with an attitude that she didn't know, they're short handed, etc.. she gave no eye contact except to roll her eyes when I pointed out that they allowed the WP to sit and eat. I also noticed that a BW and BM had to do to go orders as well. This isn't my first prejudice situation I've dealt with when it comes to WH as a restaurant conglomerate as a whole. The WH in Chantilly in Montgy, AL also has prejudice staff there. These businesses better wake up and understand that having these types prejudice actions happening and employees, which BTW they employ inmates (on work release, etc) will get you all in a world of trouble and don't you all dare come and say it's the pandemic because it's been this way since the 50s so miss...
