A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Auburndale

I found A&W/Long John's Silvers Restaurant to be clean with very good social distancing practices in place. My sister, niece and I visited today. My sister ordered the 2 fish 3 chicken plank meal. She said she liked the fish a lot but didn't care for the chicken as much as the time before. She didn't eat any sides so I took them home with me. My niece ordered the grilled salmon and shrimp meal with rice, green beans and corn. She really enjoyed everything except the green beans which she said were too salty. I had the 2 fish and 1 side meal. I chose the Mac and cheese for my side. I enjoyed the Mac and cheese. Nothing special but I liked it. I found the fish to be very greasy although I could tell the grease was filtered well, maybe even fresh. I sopped the grease off with napkins and then ate it. It tasted good but I did remain sick to my stomach for the rest of the day and even during the night. I do not understand the concept of this business. Every time I go there its in the evening right before or around 9 or 830. They always have their ice cream machines down. All I want is a root beer float or a blended float. Why are you open then? When i talk to manager to ask them why? They say it is what it is. I mean you have McDonalds Burger King Wendy's where I can get ice cream or a frosty. Even Publix takes care of every customer whether they are the first customer or last customer of the day. Do you not care about our business? Best believe I am going to go to corporate about this and social media like I don't understand why you are ok losing business I understand if its 30 minutes to close or less. But If your not going to serve something on your menu after 9pm put it on the menu so that customers can see it. Put it on the company site!! Lets see if the company really is...

This restaurant is a combination of Long John Silver's and A&W, so it offers more choices than the average restaurant of only one type or another. The food is delicious and cooked fast and fresh. The atmosphere is rather nostalgic, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We had a really lovely time for my husband's birthday, and he loves their fish and hushpuppies.

This restaurant is located near several shopping centers (Walmart, Lowe's, Dollar Tree, and more) and less than 5 minutes from a flea market, so it is a great area to spend the day, especially on a weekend. It's also less than 5 minutes from the lake Ariana beach if you'd like to eat your fish near the water, and not far from Downtown Auburndale if you want to take kids to the park and butterfly garden.
