I decided to grab a bite here while visiting Augusta. This evening, I decided to order a sandwich from the drive-thru. Knowing that this is not your average big-chain fast-food sandwich shop, I didn't expect a super short wait. However, in my opinion, this wait was a little too long for drive-thru service (~10 minutes). It could just be that I'm being too critical. I only ordered 1 hot sandwich - nothing complicated and no special instructions.
I can say, however, if the food had come faster, I would not have been able to or had time to read the handwritten sign on neon-colored poster board just inside the drive thru window. Apparently, the owner lost $3000 last month as a result of someone taking something. Also, even if employees request a day off, they still may not get that day off. Not a huge deal, but this isn't something I should know.
The truly concerning part is that it's fairly obvious on what the profits are NOT being spent. The exterior of the building is not appealing. The drive-thru intercom needs a complete makeover. The lawn could use some attending to. The drive-thru window and everything visible from the outside does not appear to be as clean/organized as one would like.
I would like to offer a recommendation. When you take a customer's credit card for payment in the drive thru, you shouldn't leave the window. You shouldn't leave my sight. I should not have to worry about someone doing something unethical with my credit card (apparently someone is already taking something they shouldn't). Furthermore, since I trusted you with my credit card, I expect you to bring it back - not some other employee.
As for the food, it was good. To be completely honest, it is overpriced. I sincerely question the validity of anyone's statement that refers to the food as a good value. However, I can safely say it's better quality than the $5 competitor. Although that may not be the case for some of the other chains down the street.
The sandwiches are a little too greasy, use a little too much iceberg lettuce, and use only a little meat. Again, better than average, but I paid $10 for a $2 sandwich (probably less, at cost)...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn my business, we cater various times throughout the month for staff and/or patients. I have always tried to use local businesses because I like to support local businesses as a way to give back to the community instead of using chain restaurants. I have a catering event coming up in the next couple of weeks and decided to try Baldino's for my lunch today to see if they could be an option to order from for the event. I gave two stars only for the fact that the food was good but the service was HORRIBLE! I placed an online order and paid for the order at that time. Time of readiness was given as 15 minutes. I arrived at the store 30 minutes later. First, I attempted to pick up my order through the drive thru as placing an online order should have the convenience of picking up through the drive thru but they do not offer that option. The manager was outside at the time and offered to bring my order out to me which I appreciated just to be told that my order was not ready as they had just started making it. Second, ten minutes later when my order was brought out to me it was overflowing with onions when my order clearly stated NO onions. So I still had to go into the store with the sandwich to have it remade. The staff preparing the orders behind the counter proceeded to make excuses that they were short staffed (there were FOUR staff preparing the subs and very few customers) and when I pointed out that being short staffed has nothing to do with preparing an order correctly, one of the staff yelled and cussed at me. I did notify the manager of this. The most horrible customer service and service in general! Very unacceptable and so unprofessional! This establishment will definitely NOT be getting my business again and definitely would not even begin to consider for them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk, I made it back here to try their food again and I can say that I give them another star. There are things that I can tweak next time to make my meal a lot better. First off the prices for what you are getting are great. The subs are fairly cheap and pretty huge for a half and a whole sub. Their bread along is bigger than all the sub places I normally frequent. The bread has a great flavor as well. I'm a huge bread eater and it can't get better than that. All the subs come with the standard ingredients such as lettuce, tomato, onion, and etc. You can omit as many things as you want. I feel they put way too much lettuce on the sandwich and not enough meat. There was a very thin layer of meat. It didn't match the size of the bread at all and it seemed like the meat was thinly sliced as well so you really couldn't get a great amount of flavor from the meat. I will get extra meat next time and light lettuce to ensure I get maximum flavor from the sub. Another thing that bothered me was that the employee was mopping the whole restaurant while they had a steadily flow of customers. This was kind of ruining the dining experience. But at least there was no stench in here like last time I was there. So now I know exactly how to have my sub made to ensure I get the most flavor...
