Great local family food. Menu said they had been there since 1961. I believe it, the prices can't be beat, hands down the cheapest meal we have had as a family. But that doesn't mean the food was bad either. Food was a solid we liked it and would return. Staff was super friendly and quick. This is most definitely like a southern granny's recipe book. Grits, over easy egg and toast with corned beef hash for hubby's plate. Kiddo had pancake and bacon. Corn beef hash with scrambled eggs with cheese for me. I got biscuits with mine so asked for a small side of gravy. And side of home fries for the table. The biscuits were tasty buttery flavor with more crumble then chew which I prefer. The home fries was slices fresh potatoes that are put in deep frier, simple but good and nary a complaint for the table. The gravy is was ok, pretty sure it is canned or comes from the bulk mix. Overall the food was good, service was great, prices where amazing, and the family all liked it. Would recommend and go back. Always like supporting the neighborhood local establishment.

Got Saturday breakfast of 2 eggs, grits, and country ham. It's not on the busiest stretch of Peach Orchard so you have to know where you're going but it was worth looking for. The country ham was generous for the price and I thought some of the best I've had at a restaurant. Appropriately salty but not too much and more tender than most. Service was good and three different folks made sure the coffee cup stayed full. My sister got the Pancake special with city ham and took half of hers home. Good value too, less than 20 bucks. If you're on the Southside wanting breakfast I'd recommend them.

Can't believe I just now found this place, it has been in Augusta for a very long time... and I can see why! WOW is all we could say when it came to eating lunch here for our first time ever. We both got the bacon cheeseburgers and asked them to add an egg on top. Amazing, this is a REAL hand made patty and grilled to perfection. Added on a heaping helping of fresh cut fries, again... AMAZING. Can't say enough about this hidden treasure hiding over off Peach Orchard Road, it is try a good experience eating out. Bring the family for breakfast also, I am sure you will NOT be disappointed!

I was overcharged due to mystery fees added on to my order apparently you regardless of their menu prices you will pay 50cents for every box or cup as well as a 10% takeout fee which turned my $25 order to almost $33 just in additional fees I wouldn’t have minded if it was disclosed prior but to me it feels as if they made their own prices to make a profit.the waitress was also getting loud explaining my total as if i didn’t have a right to question mystery fees, I made sure to pay the balance before questioning the price so she wouldn’t think I was trying to get a “free meal” because that was the energy she gave me. As a chef I do not respect that, the food was...

Came in this morning and sat down. The server came and she took our order. It the server several trips to finally get us our drinks. The food came out and then we we're abandoned. My coffee ran out halfway through my meal, and it was over half an hour for the coffee to get refilled just before we were getting ready to go. My wife had emptied her cup about 20 minutes after me.

Food was fine but the service left something to be desired. What made it worse was they were catering to the regulars and forgetting us.

To me a drink glass should never go below have full of the beverage you ordered, unless you tell the server...
