Hands down the best food I've had in Augusta.

In Augusta for work, and have been trying out various restaurants with the work crew.

This place I is the first that had me saying I'm coming back. EVERYTHING was good!

Seating is limited and there was a short (10min) then from there it's either buffet style or takeout option.

We dined in, which gave me a chance to sample EVERYTHING.

I started with the salmon in lemon sauce. Not overcooked and just delicious. This was my favorite. Seconds were had.

Next up was the fried pork loin. Probably my least favorite protein but still good. I'm not much of a pork person and still enjoyed.

Then the barbeque chicken. This..was..good. seasoned to the bone.

For sides, there was some corn and lima beans and plain rice.

After this, we had the beef gumbo. The gumbo truth be told was more a soup. For me gumbo needs to be a little thicker...heartier. Whatever you want to call it delicious. The beef was seasoned well, tender and the broth flavoured with okras.

There was also a salad bar, and I just had a fresh salad. Typical salad toppings with some.black olives and jalapenos to spice it up a little. Not sure about the dressing, I did without.

Then everything was topped off with the peach cobbler. I enjoyed this as well, probably because it was not overly sweet. But I know people are passionate about their cobbler, so opinions will very.

All in all, I'm definitely going back and look forward to different daily dishes. We were told when leaving tomorrow (Friday) is fried...

I have been a regular of The Chef's House for years!

As a downtown worker its easy to get tired of the same old rotation in restaurants but Tammy and George get a weekly visit. From the small PINK cottage, they serve a heaping helping of Southern comfort. There are generally two to three daily entrees as part of the all-you-can-eat buffet to include basic salad bar, London Broil, pork chops, fried chicken, baked salmon, baked tilapia, spaghetti and meatballs, turnip greens, macaroni and cheese, and always a delicious peach cobbler.

As with any business you visit, there will a quirk or two and for me its, the max occupancy around 20 and difficult parking lot. As a renovated house there are two small rooms that serve as the dining area and a buffet in the third. Most of us meet friends for lunch so you can imagine the space gets loud and a little cramped.

Thanks to my extended family and Girl Scout troop, I drive a tank. It can be tricky getting into one of the five spots in front of the lot, maneuvering the narrow path between business to the back especially with pedestrians and parking in the back. Call me a typical woman driver but I like to have some space and do not find Parking Lot Tetris fun.

Will I be back? Absolutely. The quality of food and good nature of family structure - the young son helps out - keeps me there weekly. As a rule of thumb, I dine around 1:30 to avoid to rush and spend time with...

As a college student far from home, finding a place that truly feels like family and serves food made with love is rare—but that’s exactly what The Chef’s House offers. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm smile and genuine hospitality from Mrs. Tammie, who is not just a 5-star waitress, but also a light, offering excellent service and life-changing conversations. She makes you feel like you’re walking into your auntie’s house for Sunday dinner.

Chef George brings the heart of the South into every dish he prepares. Being from South Carolina, I know true Southern food, and this place gets it right every single time. My favorite days to visit are Wednesdays and Thursdays—it’s become my personal mission to eat here on those days.

Wednesdays? I’m all about the spaghetti with meatballs, that sweet, fluffy cornbread, and a cold glass of REAL Southern sweet tea. Thursdays? It’s the ultimate comfort meal: tomatoes with rice, fried pork chops, cornbread, and of course, more of that sweet tea.

Every visit feels like walking into a family kitchen. If you’re ever in Augusta and want true Southern food made with love, do yourself a favor and stop by The Chef’s House!

Come for the food, stay...
