Hibachi Express — Restaurant in Augusta

This restaurant is in an area that it was much needed in!!! Most of the restaurants on the street are mostly burger and fries joints. This place is still fast food, but it’s Hibachi and Japanese cuisine. I didn’t realize this place was open when it was until I was going to another restaurant on this street and missed the turn and saw they were open and quickly turned in here. I didn’t really know what to except because it was a fairly new business and I never heard of Japanese fast food. The place was immaculately clean when I walked in. This place has a drive thru window but I wanted to see what the inside was like before I checked out the drive thru window. The cashier was very friendly and seems to already enjoy his job. I started with something pretty safe, which was the Hibachi chicken. It came with Hibachi chicken chunks, fried rice, and mixed vegetables. The chicken was very flavorful and cooked very well. The vegetables were good as well. The cook put too much teriyaki sauce on my rice and drowned it. I hate my rice being drowned in anything. I like to taste my rice. The second time I came I order the Hibachi steak. It wasn’t flavorful as the chicken. It seems like they just took it out the freezer with no seasoning and put it on the grill. The cook did follow my instructions this time and not add the teriyaki sauce to my rice. The second time I came, I came during lunchtime on a weekday. I was so surprised how crowded it got. I guess the word has really gotten out about this place. The cashier was very friendly and helped as much as she could. Drive thru worker would not let finish saying what I wanted and she kept getting it wrong. The manager got on headset and did the same thing. I started talking louder so they could hear me since they both could not understand me. Don't keep cutting the customer off because you THINK you know what they are ordering. You keep getting it wrong so shut up and listen to your customers. It's a shame because the food is wonderful but you lost a customer and their family and hopefully friends because of rude, poor customer service. Even the manager was rude. You don't tell a customer to calm down when all I did was talk louder because something was maybe wrong with the mic. Sorry, but you lost a valued customer because of poor...

First time, was in drive thru with others who had come before.

I decided to try similar food that they were ordering. I had the half hibachi chicken, it came with half chicken, half vegetables on top of rice on both sides.

The drive thru was fast around 9pm in Saturday night. The food I had was good. The yum yum sauce was labeled Terry Ho's yum yum sauce. It was tasty. It went well with the food.
