Atmosphere is excellent and decorated with a tie of both the Aurora Community as well as the Mexican Cantina.
Prices are in a range that is easily affordable. Serving sizes meet and exceed portions appropriate for a normal proper Hispanic Cuisine.
Flavoring and seasoning is spot on for authenticity and very enjoyable.
They they are a full bar an absolutely know how to properly make a true margarita at a price that is appropriate for the serving size of their beverage. I love that you can tell their Margarita is not a pre-made blend that is just poured but is a true per glass freshly made margarita.
Now as far as our experience during our dining at the restaurant. Upon our first arrival we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was attentive and on point with checking to make sure that all of our needs were met and beverages were filled when necessary. Gave suggestions as requested between two meal options and was spot on with her suggestion.
We hope you really give this place a chance to survive because it truly has hit the spot on all fronts.
As the evening went on it got a lot busier, probably busier than what they expected and that caused a bit of a service delay but being open only a week makes their adaptation to the service level understandable.

Read moreWe arrived at Cheves for lunch. We were seated promptly by courteous staff who seemed to be excited to be there.
The atmosphere was bright and exciting. The ceilings were tall and the walls were adorned with robust paintings that brought a sense of wonder to the overall experience. I found it interesting to see an Aurora Houn Dawgs also painted on the wall, as well. The bathroom was well-kept and fully functional.
The food was amazing…! I ordered Nachos Supremos, which is not something that I typically order at a Mexican restaurant. I found the dish to be rather fulfilling and quite enjoyed every bite. It was served with moist, shredded chicken and ground beef along with fresh vegetables normally found with this type of dish.
My mother ordered a taco salad which she said was quite flavorful. She opted for grilled chicken which she also really enjoyed. There seemed to be a bit of a mixup as it was served with jalapeños, but had requested that they be not served.
The service was very good. There was some initial confusion when I asked for spicy salsa as opposed to the unexciting regular salsa. I was eventually brought spicy salsa. It may help to brush up on survival Spanish or have Google Translate on the ready when ordering.
Overall, Cheves is a must try of you haven’t...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to dine at Cheves in Aurora, Missouri, and my experience was satisfactory, albeit not exceptional. The Nacho Supreme with shredded chicken was a solid, if unremarkable, choice. The shredded chicken was a highlight, with well-balanced seasoning that added depth to the dish. The guacamole, while delicious, was slightly over-salted.
The customer service was friendly, if not particularly noteworthy. Our servers were courteous and attentive, but lacked a personal touch that would have elevated the experience.
In terms of value, Cheves' prices were slightly higher than those of similar restaurants in the area. However, the quality of the food was also a notch above, making it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a reliable, if not outstanding, dining experience.
Overall, Cheves is a solid choice for those in the Aurora area, particularly for those craving familiar, comforting Tex-Mex fare. While it may not be a destination restaurant, it is a reliable option for a...
