Me and my fiance went here for my birthday today around 1pm. Immediately upon walking in a man who works there is just staring at us, waiting for us to say something? I tell him “for 2” and he grabs menus and just starts walking without indicating anything to us, so we followed him. Less than 2 minutes after we are sat, another man comes up and simply asks “are you ready?” So I let him know we’ll need a few more minutes. 3 minutes later, a DIFFERENT man is at our table, so we hurriedly ordered fried rice, soup dumplings, and tonkatsu ramen, and 2 cocktails. Less than 10 minutes later everything is brought out at the exact same time, by a different man than the last couple times, and they are all wordless and not providing great customer service by any means. The rice had an overwhelming flavor of peanut, and absolutely nothing else. The soup dumplings were shrink wrapped balls of pork surrounded by mushy, overcooked noodle, no soup whatsoever was in the dumplings. And my tonkatsu ramen was the worst I’ve had in my life. There was no flavor to the broth, except an unpleasant egg-yolky flavor, and the meat was burnt and cut so thick it was hard to bite into, with a thick cap of untended fat where it would have been soft, melt in your mouth meat. Our drinks were the only decent part of the meal. By the time we needed to pay and leave, since we weren’t going to finish the awful food, none of the employees cared to acknowledge us. I had my card on the edge of the table and I made eye contact with every worker that passed the table, (remember, every one of these men were serving my table, and none of them introduced themselves as our server, it kind of seemed like it was a group effort on their part) and nobody came over to help us, nor did they ever come to the table and ask how we’re liking it. I eventually flagged someone down, and they quickly checked me out, and I was prompted to leave a MINIMUM 22% tip on our already $70 check. Not a great place to eat at if you enjoy good food and...
Read moreBe on notice that this place closes at 9:00 pm on a Thursday. We arrived at 8:30 pm with a party of 4 adults and 3 children. We walked to the counter to place our order and the hostess asked if we wanted to eat in or carry out. We told her eat in not knowing they closed at 9:00 pm. As we sat for 5-7 mins.before a waiter came to take our order, he promptly told us that they close at 9:00 pm which was now news to us. Not knowing what to do next we proceeded to give our order. The food came out relatively fast and everyone was eating by 8:50 pm. At 9:00 pm promptly a young hostess came and asked us if we wanted boxes and bowls to carry out our left-overs while other servers started turning off the lights and washing the floors. By 9:05 pm our waiter started hovering around our table. (Remember the bullies from school?) It was at this time we finished boxing up our food and left. The food was good and we’ll eat it as left-overs tomorrow for lunch. If a food establishment wants to close promptly at a certain time then I recommend they have cut-off time for seated dining. In this case, they should have said, “we close promptly at 9:00 pm we are not seating diners at this time. We would be happy to provide you a take-out meal.” Finally, there are thousands of dining choices in Denver and the Metro area, don’t waist your time at Stanley Hall if it’s close to closing or you are likely to be chased out by a...
Read moreFirst of all I have to give kudos, this place is really cool! All the decor and the decorations are fantastic.
We went on a Friday evening and we're not sure what happened but the service was zombie like. I know it's a service job and it's tiresome but man why was everyone so angry working there?
That decidedly put a damper on things.
I wish I could say the food was good, however nothing was tasty. In fact, instead of boxing the leftover food that I have always done - we just let it be thrown.
The soupy dumpling were cold and chewy. One of them didn't even Broth in them! Every one of them had a different level of chewiness and broth in it.
The pork bao carb was crunchy instead of being soft like it should be. The inside's were not bad.
The jade dumpling which should have been fresh and vibrant was instead dull and they used a tasteless paste inside.
The spring roll was the only thing that was okay but hard to mess that up.
I tried asking to lower the sweetness (sugar) on their boba however they said it's premixed.
The only positive was the food came out quick all together. Not even 10 minutes after ordered. It all just seemed reheated and sad.
Prices were reasonable though to be fair we mostly got appetizers.
Hopefully this was just a sad...
