4/9/2024: Carcinogens Cause Cancer - So burnt food causes cancer. - Update! I keep seeing burnt and overcooked biscuits. I want to go back and redeem my free meal from 1st bad experience, but I keep seeing posts with overcooked and oftern burnt biscuits and chicken. GOLD! Biscuits should light golden brown, soft, and flaky in the middle! Not Dark Brown, overcooked, crunchy, and dry, I added a photo from a different person who posted an overcooked biscuit last month. TERRIBLE!!! I think I chipped a tooth they were so hard.
1/25/2924: Burnt chicken and overcooked biscuits. Cold gravy! We visited this location around 7:30 Thursday evening (1/25) Not too busy, but it took just shy of 10 minutes to get menus brought to us, shocked because there were only 4 tables besides us. It was a "seat yourself" place and also "wait for the table you pick to be cleaned." All of the tables were dirty, so waiting was the only option on this visit (at least 5 minutes)
It was my first time here. I kept hearing from friends how I "must go" to Denver Biscuit Co. Well..... DON'T! At least until they fire the cook or turn down the oven. First off, the service here was slow, despite the lack of tables seated. When we finally got our order in, the food arrived, about 20 minutes later. The gravy on the Franklin was cold, the Biscuit was rock hard, and the chicken was burnt. Oh, and they forgot the fries! So, while I tried to cut my cold brick food with a dull knife, I began to wonder what the hype was all about. The fries did finally show up...hotter than the sun. The ONLY thing is to come out of this dinner outing.
Complaints were made, and a free sandwich coupon was offered. At the end of this story. I really just want upper management to be aware of the poor quality food being served at this location, in hopes that if I go back to use my free coupon, that I might actually try the $18 Franklin sandwich and actually get a warm, soft Biscuit with golden fried chicken, smothered in hot sausage gravy PLEASE! LET ME KNOW...
Read moreOkay can I just say that this place is amazing!? My waitress was absolutely fabulous. She explained things. She let me know what was going on because I clearly did not and the atmosphere is off the charts! It's inside of this market that is fabulous and has all kinds of different shops as well as other restaurants. I think that there were maybe 12 or so. You could basically live down the street. Never go hungry and never go bored. It's like visiting a small city when you pull up you see this hanger and you're thinking what am I at some kind of museum for planes and then you start to notice the art and the architecture as well as the hodgepodge mix of all of these different places. It seem to be in one place, but you're not quite sure. Heck, to be quite honest, you're not quite sure where the interest is to what so you just go in and then your floor with two at least stories of so much eye candy. Your head is going in circles and I don't care where you shop. I don't care where you eat. All I know is you're going to have an amazing time and you will not be bored and if you are then you're lame. I was lucky enough to be able to run across this place. As I saw my cousin from Texas. He asked me to pick out a place that was unique to Colorado. I had no idea how I had accidentally stumbled upon a gold mine and made myself look fabulous. But let's be honest I'm never going to lie and I'm such a ding dong that I could not take credit for such amazingness. I had to be honest and let him know that this was an accident but it wasn't. Accident to see the least. I had the shrimp and grits with some catfish and my cousin had this biscuit/ french toast sandwich thing. Oh my goodness. I don't know. All I can say is people you have to go. You have to go! And if you don't again,...
Read moreBottom line upfront: It has been observed that kitchen staff does not wash their hands after using the restroom and potentially handling food in the kitchen and managerial staff does not seem to enforce hygienic standards or care when it is brought to their attention by customers.
I will preface my review by saying that I live in the neighborhood and I can walk to this establishment and I have been eating here for the past 4 years since moving here. The food, bar, and atmosphere are great (Stanley Marketplace).
My experience changed when I placed a to-go order at the bar one evening and went to the rest room while waiting for my food. While I was washing my hands, I noticed someone wearing a service apron coming out of a stall behind me. I noted that he did not wash his hands. I exited the restroom after him and saw that he entered the kitchen service door for Denver Biscuit company. I had just ordered food there, and I was hesitant about potentially eating food from here when I just directly observed a member of the service staff who works in the kitchen use a bathroom stall and not wash their hands re-enter the kitchen to resume working. I brought my concern up with the manager and they said "Oh I promise that the person who you saw was the dishwasher, they wear thick rubber gloves anyways, and they do not handle food." They then handed me a to-go bag with my food. I politely left it at the bar and let them know that I don't feel comfortable eating food knowing that their kitchen staff have not been washing their hands after using the restroom. The bartender said "OK."
I feel like I am a reasonable person and it is not much to ask to have all service members of the team wash hands after using...
