Long story short this place is not worth going to. The service is absolutely horrible. Their menu is confusing and they won't honor what the menu says. They screwed up in order of mine after me waiting for 45 minutes later than they suggested. Only to come home and find out that half of the order was an even in the box. I contacted the people who then told me that I wasn't supposed to get what I ordered. I then shot them back the receipt that stated exactly what it was that I was supposed to order and get. They then said yep! The website menu is confusing. However they would not honor at least making things right by Expediting the food that I ordered in the first place. The prices are absolutely stupid!. I ended up getting 15 shrimp and Soggy french fries for over $35. But I wanted to give it a try because of the reviews. Sadly I was disappointed. The whole purpose for me going to this place was for some fish, chips, and shrimp. So today I figured I would drive from Aurora to Culver's in Green Valley Ranch to get the same meal. On this meal I was awarded a biscuit, coleslaw, on your rings, French fries, shrimp, and fish for under $30. It only took 5 minutes to get the order and the order was fresh and hot steaming! There was no argument. There was no rebuttal. The menu was clear. And they honored what the menu stated. I told hungry bear I would never frequent their establishment again and I will let the people that I know know about the situation that I went through so that they don't waste their money on cold soggy food that you're going to get over 45 minutes late and the order is wrong! :-( if you're a good place to eat, I will definitely give you good reviews. But if you suck? I will let everyone know that you suck.
The first photo is from Hungry Bear. Look at how sad it is :-(
The second picture is from Culver's. I'm not a spokesperson. But look at the difference! And the food was piping hot and we received it within 5 minutes! I will absolutely take a drive all the way from Aurora Mall area to damn near Denver International Airport instead of going to that...
Read moreOkay y'all. This place is the real deal. In fact, this is the 2nd best food I have ever ordered from DoorDash (or any delivery service/restaurant), and I order delivery at least a few times a week. Given the bonus points they earned for being open with freshly cooked food at almost 2 a.m., it may just rank #1.
The cod pieces were enormous and tender, with just the right amount of batter embracing the steaming flaky fish, with a crispy, but gentle, toothiness that was perfection.
Given the wee hour of my order, they must have taken pity on me and thrown in an extra piecen since they had to cook it up fresh anyway (bless your kind souls) But truly...it doesn't end there folks.
I also ordered a $5 side of macaroni salad...and while I never would have thought it possible, somehow, that macaroni salad stole the show- all 3 cups of it (a huge serving!) My my my. Wowza. It is the BEST macaroni salad I have ever had, in my entire southern life, or elsewhere.
What kind of alchemical food magic is this?! And who conjured that macaroni salad recipe?
I swear, it must be a recipe from the darkside, meant to tempt me to the uber carby underbelly of DoorDash, where larger pants and a high a1C are inescapable- integrating into the essence of my being, and leaving me unable to resist. Seriously, put this place, and their food, on your radar! Give them a try, sooner rather rather than later. Shop and eat local, friends! And ifnthey aren't technically local, eat there anyway. Seriously, if you are disappointed, that's clearly a You problem- because, this place is life, and their food...
