Been to this location a couple times now, and each time we were not impressed. Other locations seem to have their act together. The food was ok, nothing better than bar food (the chicken nachos apps were actually better than their main dishes). What really has thrown us off is the service. The times we have come in, we were not greeted by anyone at the front, and a server had to actually show us to a table (after several minutes of waiting). It's one thing if there was a wait for a table, but totally different when no one was at the front! The place was only slightly full, a few booths filled and the bar about half way full. This last time there, our server definitely didn't want to be there and it showed. She didn't want to answer questions and was snippy when taking orders. One of the orders at the table was also wrong, and she refused to even acknowledge it was wrong (the zingers platter didn't come with any sauce when we asked for a specific sauce). The sauce was later brought out as "an extra, just because". The order was wrong, please just admit fault or say something about getting it right instead of saying the order was right when it truly wasn't! Again, we could tell the waitress did not want to be there! The other thing I will say is the salad I got was brown and slimy underneath, and the veggies were so overcooked they were mushy. I didn't dare ask for a replacement after the zingers complaint. So all in all, not all the food was terrible (I'd say typical bar food), but the service has been bad at this location, or at least when we go during the weeknights.

This is a nice tap room with 2 bars and plenty of TVs. One bar area opens up to the patio in nice weather. Kind of a bummer the patio overlooks busy Ogden Ave. For an ale house, the beer selection is fairly limited and uninspired. Loaded with IPAs and relatively common breweries, there wasn't much in the way of anything but the lighter lagers and ales. I find that boring and not to my tastes. The food was good but not exceptional. Good variety of sandwiches, burgers, pub fare along with heartier dishes, fish and vegetarian options. We had a pitcher of sangria that was tasty and fairly priced. The wings we had as an appetizer were the feature of the night. Well cooked, large, and the sauce was good. The ranch (we think) is homemade and delicious. The Caesar salad was fine - the dressing kind of felt store bought but lots of parmesan and for a side salad it was large and inexpensive. The prime rib was Thursday's special and it was good, but came rarer than the temp for which it was requested. The accompanying mashed potatoes we're good but clearly made earlier in the day and kind of dry. The Cajun chicken pasta was tasty as well but also a little dry on sauce. It was more oil and seasoning with some melted parmesan. Service was also good but not exceptional. Our salads delivered prior to the appetizer even though they were ordered five minutes afterwards. Prices are very fair and portions are good. Overall a nice place but nothing makes it stand out.

We didn't even receive water! It was only 2 ish on a Friday afternoon. We were seated across from the bar. I finally asked the hostess what the norm is for service? She then asked if anyone had checked on us? I told her no. She then told us that the bartender was our server. The bartender never acknowledged us during the time we waited. Many restaurants have a staffing problem. I'll say that's the reason we were ignored. The hostess did offer to seat us on the other side. Our question is, shouldn't she have known that service was slow beforehand? We were not asked if we wanted to sit at the bar. We made the decision to leave. However, we did find prompt service and a delicious meal not far from Miller's Ale. Yep, Texas Roadhouse ! Pictures below, all within 10 minutes! And a full slab of ribs!

I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a restaurant because I just chucked it up to it being a bad experience, but the food here tonight was HORRIBLE. I spent $70 on dry chicken, dry AND burnt steak, and the salmon was salty. I ordered a medium well steak and it came to the table medium rare, the server even agreed that the steak was not what it should be. I’ve had multiple great experiences at the North Riverside location but this was just awful. The vegetable medley was horrible and the lime rice was bland and horrible as well. I usually always get to-go boxes at restaurants but I left everything that was eaten there because I don’t even want to smell the steak that they served. **Update** It’s 5am the next day, 12/23/23, and my son just vomited and it smells just like the steak he had.

The very first time visited Miller's alehouse, it's been over a year since my family and I Dined in a restaurant. So I have some mixed reviews for Millers' ale. Let me start with what I enjoyed. I love the ambiance of the restaurant, it's a nice cozy place to be. The fact that they offer a kids menu & activity sheet depicts how family-friendly this location is. I like their service, the gentleman assisting us was kind too. Coming to the part I wasn't pleased with— The black bean patty burger was dry, missing out on cheese/mustard/mayo, the bun tasted kinda stale to me. Upon notifying the server, got us mayonnaise on the side which I appreciate for he did make an effort to make up for the dry burger. PS: Big thumbs up for their craft beer. (Boston Lager, Sierra Nevada IPA)

I stopped in one day out of necessity, if I didn’t find a cold beer and a snack quickly I don’t even want to think about what the consequences could have been. Nothing good, to be sure. Well I am here to tell you that Millers Ale House came through in a big way. With a ton of great beers on tap, it was easy to find a thirst quenching option at a reasonable price. The Nashville Hot chicken Sammich was the perfect snack! But the star of the show was without a doubt the bartender JB….I came in ornery, hungry, thirsty, and probably with a poor attitude. Her exceptional service and friendly banter were exactly what I needed to understand that life is meant to be enjoyed, not stressed over, and our interaction was the cherry on top of my experience. Highly recommend, will be back.
