Bundoo Khan Express – More Like “Express Disappointment”

If you're a fan of the original Bundoo Khan on Devon, like I proudly am, then brace yourself before stepping into Bundoo Khan Express Grill—because this version feels like someone tried to microwave the legacy on high heat and forgot to hit “stop.”

True to its name, it’s “express”—not just in food delivery, but also in the speed at which the staff can make you feel like an unwelcome intruder. Hospitality? Let’s just say it must’ve taken the express lane straight out the back door.

We placed our order (with zero acknowledgment from the staff, who treated us like a background glitch in their day), and that was it—no turning back. No check-ins. No, “How was the food?” Just cold stares, colder kebabs, and a dining experience that made DMV lines feel personal.

The kebabs? Dry, like they were sun-dried on a rooftop. No juice, no flavor—just meat’s ghost. The daal fry was a culinary mystery, tasting like regret and under-seasoning. Quantity was fair, but what’s the point of having enough when none of it’s enjoyable?

I genuinely feel bad for the owners. It’s like someone took your favorite movie, remade it with no budget and actors who didn’t read the script.

I didn’t even take pictures. That’s how uninspired I was. I walked out with a full stomach and an empty soul.

Verdict: Until they swap the staff and remember what made Bundoo Khan a legend, skip the express and take a detour. Or better yet—just head to Devon. At least there, they serve food with flavor and a smile 😊

05/14/2025: Update response: Thank you for your response. It only confirms my initial concern—that when a customer expresses dissatisfaction with the quality of food, your policy is not to acknowledge it but to argue instead. Your refusal to take back a dish deemed substandard, while insisting on payment, reflects exactly the kind of arrogance and disregard I experienced. This exchange only reinforces why we will not...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at an Indian restaurant and I must say, the food was truly exceptional. The flavors were exquisite and each dish was a delightful explosion of taste. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes that capture the essence of Pakistani cuisine perfectly. As a frequent patron, I have always enjoyed the culinary experience at this establishment.

However, I must address a concerning issue that occurred during my recent visit. The cashier, who took our order, displayed unprofessional behavior throughout our interaction. From the moment we approached the counter to place our order until the moment we paid, she seemed disinterested and continuously laughed with the other lady. This lack of professionalism was disappointing and greatly affected our overall dining experience.

Additionally, to compound the issue, the cashier made a mistake with our drink orders. She served us the wrong drinks, which further added to our frustration. It is disheartening to see such carelessness and lack of attention to detail.

My husband and I truly love this place, but this incident has left us contemplating whether we would choose to dine here again. It is disheartening to think that we would have to hesitate before returning to a place we once held in high regard. The cashier's behavior was disgraceful and it is not an enjoyable experience to have someone with such a negative attitude and unprofessional demeanor greet.

I sincerely hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues promptly. Improving the professionalism and customer service at the front line is crucial for maintaining a positive dining experience. As loyal customers, we would be disappointed to see this otherwise wonderful restaurant lose its charm due to...

Went there for the very first time. This place is located in a busy strip mall with plenty of parking. They have HALAL Pakistani and Indian food. Well organized and clean establishment.

Now about the negatives. We were in bit of a hurry so we called ahead to place an order for a sit down lunch. To our surprise the employee refused to take our call ahead order but was ok with us placing a takeout order. Even when we offer to pay ahead they won’t take our order and instead told us it had to be a takeout order, but we can sit down and eat there. (See the pictures, attached). When we got there the female employee at the counter had an attitude. At this point we were totally dissatisfied with the service. Very bad first impression. They packed the food for us to go, even when they knew we were going to sit there.

Upon opening the packed food we had mixed feelings. We ordered chicken khrahi and behari kabas with naans. Chicken khrahi tasted decent but the size of chicken pieces felt like it was made from chicken wings, very small pieces but the flavor was decent. Behari kabab was a total disappointment. There was no flavor to it, almost felt like we were eating boiled beef kabab.

Overall we did not like this place due to horrible service and below quality food. You can get far better value at other places in the area for the price you will pay. I will NOT...

Bundhoo Khan is one of those spots we keep coming back to, so clearly they’re doing something right. This time we went with our usual lineup—chicken boti, bihari kabob, and seekh kabob—but decided to shake things up with some karahi chicken and daal. The meat dishes? Still great… though the bihari kabob had a few extra crispy pieces that crossed the line from “nice char” to “campfire charcoal.” We sent it back, and they fixed it without fuss, so points for service. The daal was a winner—nice and spicy without leaving you gasping for air. The karahi chicken was… fine. Not bad, but not exactly “write-in-your-diary” levels of memorable. Meanwhile, our kids ignored all this and went full American—burger and Philly cheesesteak. They loved them, washed down with mango lassi like true fusion foodies. Prices have gone up (thanks, inflation), but the flavors still hold their own. It’s a solid spot for Pakistani BBQ cravings, even if the karahi chicken probably won’t become your new obsession. Pro tip: Stick with the classics here, and you’ll leave happy—and possibly smelling faintly of smoke, which is basically the Bundhoo Khan cologne.
