I am deeply disappointed with my experience at this restaurant on New Year’s Eve. I placed an order well in advance, on December 30th, and was assured it would be confirmed the next morning. On December 31st, at 11:00 a.m., I received confirmation, and the order was scheduled for pickup at 5:00 p.m.
When we arrived at 5:15 p.m., we were told the food would take an additional 15 minutes. While inconvenient, we waited patiently. However, those 15 minutes turned into hours. By the time we finally received our order, it was 8:20 p.m.—three hours late.
This was not just an inconvenience; it was unacceptable. There were children and two pregnant women waiting at home for this food. The entire reason we scheduled the pickup for 5:00 p.m. was to ensure everyone could eat on time. Instead, we waited endlessly at the restaurant, only to hear repeatedly, “The food is getting ready.”
If the restaurant is unable to handle large orders or the demands of a busy holiday, they should not overcommit. It is far better to refuse an order than to leave customers waiting for hours and ruin their evening.
To be clear, I understand that this restaurant is highly regarded by the local community and serves excellent food—one of the reasons we chose it. However, this experience was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.
For anyone considering placing a pre-order here for a special occasion or party, I strongly caution you to think twice. While this restaurant may excel on regular days for dine-in or takeout, they clearly lack the capacity to handle pre-orders for large gatherings during peak times.
I hope this feedback helps others avoid the disappointment we faced, and I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this review to heart to improve their service during busy periods.
UPDATE , Jan 02,2025:
Following up on my earlier review, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the effort the restaurant made to address our concerns. After our disappointing experience on New Year’s Eve, the manager personally reached out to apologize and took full responsibility for the mistake.
Their sincere apology and the gesture of providing us with a considerable compensation for our next order demonstrate their commitment to customer service and improvement. While the delay on such an important evening was frustrating, it’s clear that the restaurant values its customers and is willing to take steps to make things right.
Thank you for reaching out to us and for addressing the situation so thoughtfully. We hope to have a much better experience next time and look forward to enjoying the food your restaurant...

I'm writing to share my recent experience at Bawarchi, an Indian restaurant in Naperville, IL, to give others a heads up. I ordered food through Uber Eats and was unfortunately met with several issues:
Stale Food: The food I received appeared and tasted old, leaving me quite disappointed. Incorrect Order: The paneer tikka masala, a vegetarian dish, contained chicken tikka pieces. This mistake could have serious consequences for dietary restrictions or allergies. Unhelpful Manager: When I contacted the restaurant manager to express my concerns, his response was dismissive and lacked any apology. His "I don't care" attitude left me feeling frustrated and unheard.
While I cannot speak for their entire service, this experience fell far short of my expectations and raises concerns about food quality and customer service at Bawarchi. I encourage others to consider this feedback before ordering from this restaurant.
Update on Bawarchi Restaurant Experience:
The owner of the restaurant, Praveen, personally contacted me to apologize for the issues I encountered and assured me that they have taken steps to address these issues.
I believe it's important to hold establishments accountable for their actions, while also acknowledging good faith efforts to rectify mistakes. I hope Bawarchi can learn from this experience and ensure such incidents don't occur again.
Additionally, I encourage others who have had similar experiences to share their feedback directly with the restaurant in addition to leaving online reviews. This can help businesses identify areas for improvement and better serve...
Read moreI have eaten at a number of Indian restaurants both in America and in India, and can make several recipes on my own at home quite well. To date, Bawarchi in naperville stands as one of the single best Indian restaurants I have ever been to. I will break down this review in sections.
Food: Excellent. Many, many Indian restaurants constantly disappoint in the quality/consistency of their food. But here, everything in on point. The North Indian cuisine is rich, non-oily, fresh, and delicious. The South Indian food is solid as well, though not quite on the level as their North Indian selections. The Gobi Manchurian was cooked to perfection- crunchy on the outside, but not overcooked on the inside, and the sauce was well-flavored. The Idlis and dosa were competently done and the Sambar was quite nice. The highlight is the biryani, matching the restaurant's namesake. It was arguably the single best Biryani I've ever had in my entire life- highly recommend the Paneer biryani. The food is consistent as well, which goes a long way.
Service: Excellent. Many other Indian restaurants in America have very poor service for some reason, and often treat you terribly. Here however, great attention is paid to the customer and the staff are kind and attentive.
Atmosphere/decor: Good. Clean, spacious, nice wooden booths/tables that have a solidity and presence to them. Lots of lighting both natural and above. A fun place to eat.
Overall, absolutely 5 stars. Don't waste your time at inferior Indian restaurants, most people rate a lot of them highly because they have no taste, so google reviews can mislead you. This one is legit though .This one is...
