Let me start by saying—I didn’t come here looking for trouble. I came for a spicy chicken sandwich and maybe some mashed potatoes if I was feeling dangerous. But this Popeyes off Colfax? It had other plans. It was around 7:43 p.m. on a Thursday. The sun was low, Colfax was buzzing with its usual blend of energy and existential dread, and the neon “Open” sign flickered like it was on its last breath. I parked and headed in, hungry and unsuspecting. The line was short—just one guy ahead of me. Tall, hoodie pulled up, pacing slightly like he had somewhere to be but didn’t know where. He kept glancing at his phone, muttering about shrimp. I ignored him. My eyes were on the prize: that golden, crispy miracle in a foil bag. The cashier looked... nervous. Sweating. Trembling hands. “We’re outta shrimp,” she said before I even ordered. I hadn’t asked for shrimp. “I’ll just do a spicy chicken combo,” I said, trying to lighten the mood. She rang it up. Glanced over her shoulder. “That’ll be $9.84.” Then it happened. The guy in front of me slammed his hands on the counter. “Where’s my order?” he snapped. The bag the cashier handed him moments before sat untouched, but he didn’t seem to recognize it. He looked... confused. Almost like he didn’t remember ordering it. The cashier backed away, pointing to the receipt stapled to the bag. “Sir, it’s right there—number 42—” “I’m not number 42,” he whispered. That’s when I noticed it. Blood. Not a lot. Just a smear—on the side of the bag, near the receipt. My stomach dropped. The guy grabbed the bag, looked inside, then stormed out without another word. The bell over the door jangled like it was in a panic. I turned to the cashier. “Did he just...?” But she wasn’t looking at me. She was staring at the receipt printer. Still printing. Line after line. Long after my order should’ve been done. The machine choked out a final number: #43 – 1 Spicy Chicken Sandwich, 1 Mashed Potatoes, 1 Body in the Freezer. I blinked. “Excuse me?” I asked. She didn’t answer. She just slowly turned, walked into the back, and never came back out. Ten minutes passed. Another customer came in, looked around, then left without ordering. The restaurant was dead silent except for the faint hum of the fryers... and a slow drip. Drip. Drip. I crept toward the counter, leaned over, and glanced into the kitchen. Freezer door: open. Inside: shadows. A smear of red trailing across the tile like ketchup, but too dark. Too real. I should’ve left. But something—maybe hunger, maybe curiosity, maybe madness—pulled me forward. I stepped behind the counter. The receipt printer coughed again. Another order. #44 – Witness Combo. Spicy. I backed away. I wasn’t ready to become a combo meal. Just then, a voice behind me: “You forgot your drink.” I turned around, and there he was. Hoodie. Blood now on both sleeves. He held out a cup filled with... something. Thick. Red. Smelled like barbecue and iron. I bolted. Out the door. Into the night. Never looked back. It’s been three days since. I haven’t eaten chicken since. I’ve reported it—no response. The listing for the Popeyes on Colfax? Still active. Still open. Still serving. So if you’re hungry, sure—stop by. Just... check your receipt. I’d highly...

(Mid-November '17) I came a few days ago, today's date being November 16th, when I came that day the workers were nice and obviously since I have to give a star then I guess that will go to them. I ordered the combo with the 5 piece chicken tender meal, when I got home to eat it with my one year old daughter, I realized that all our tenders were raw in the middle. So I came in today cause my phone has not been working right, and they denied me replacing my meal even with the proof with a picture of my raw chicken tenders and proof of a picture that they all were ... Then when I asked for corporate number they told me that they did not know the number, all the managers said they did not know the number and acted dumb to it. When I asked for their GM info they didn't want to give me that either and all they said is that I could do the survey and complain. In the picture it is very clear to see the chicken is raw! But they still would not replace it.
Update: (12/21/17 about 4:30pm) No one in lobby, 2 cars in drive thru, so I decided to go inside. When I walked up to the counter, the manager was putting the orders together and the lady on drive thru barely started an order. I was not greeted or even told simply "I will be right with you". It took a good while after being there that the manager finally said she will be right with me. Then the lady from drive thru tried to take my order and when I started talking, the manager told her take the windows order. She took an additional 3 orders on drive thru before the manager turned around and asked me my order. By this time, 2 guys came in, so maybe that had something to do with it. Then the manager gave me a really bad attitude and I had a free meal in the book and wouldn't give it to me.
The heavy set female manager always gives me attitude and ignores me. Even when I went with my cousin. I've only been to this location 5 times, 3 of those 5 has had issues, 2 of those 3 were with her! She told me her name is Elizabeth, but when I told Mike her name, he said there is no manager by that name.
If it weren't for Mike, I believe he is the area supervisor, both these issues would not be resolved I'm...
Read moreLast night I was working for a delivery app and came to pick up a delivery here 5 min. before closing. Thought, great, I made it and can get paid for one more order and go home after an extremely long day. But alas, the employees closing the store took that from me by handing the order I was supposed to deliver over to the customer herself, who drove up to the drive through before I could get there and did not notify me or the third party app. Beyond doing this - which could have resulted in giving the order to a complete stranger for free - the employees did not complete or cancel the order on their side once it was off their hands, nor did they in any way make an attempt to stop me from coming. They let it sit there as if it were still being completed, making it appear to me as though the customer’s order is still there waiting to be picked up and delivered.
This resulted in me wasting more time than it would have taken me to just take the order and deliver it, time for which I was NOT paid. This may have felt like a small ‘oops’ that didn’t really matter to the ladies working last night, but it completely ruined my night. These things happen surprisingly often, and every time they happen I end up not being paid money that I was expecting, wasting time I cannot get back, and my already low income is being diminished even further. There is no situation in which a seemingly small mistake on my end would ever result in lost wages for a restaurant employee. And yet, there are MANY ways in which a restaurant worker’s mistakes often result in lost wages for third-party delivery drivers. We are not paid hourly. Either train your employees on how to properly handle third party delivery apps, or don’t use them at all.
Thanks for coming to...
