El Mercado De Colorado — Local services in Aurora

The owners of this store decided to open one up in a predominantly black neighborhood. My question is why wouldn't you expect for the black community to patronize your business? I ask this because I live within walking distance of the store and I am a black woman who happens to be well-versed in Mexican Cuisine. I used to go to that particular Market because of the location and because I use authentic ingredients. The last time I was there I had gone to the Butcher and taken a number to wait my turn and a Hispanic gentleman behind me took his number, we nodded at each other and smiled a greeting. The butcher completed the order that he was working on and called my number I held my number up to show that I was present. The butcher looked at my number and then walked away and motion for the gentleman behind me to come to him. The gentleman looked at me with surprise and motion for me to go forward. I insisted that I had the correct number but he chose not to Help me with my order. This happened in front of my children who are biracial and I teach them to be color blind and treat everyone equal. To be honest that night I hid my tears from my kids and trust me they were tears of frustration. Even writing this review knowing that the store is only a few blocks away from me and now I have to travel elsewhere makes me feel that same frustration again. I just think that if any black patrons are wondering why you're getting different treatment when you go to that store it is certainly because of the color...

The Fruits are bad they aren’t fresh like the like the sign says outside, and they’re also dead flies next to the tomatoes, avocados. Almost all the fruit have been dead instant, I swear that if you look on one of the shelves, you will find something dead a mosquito a fly. I don’t know, but you will find something dead in there. I feel so disgusted because I found a kid chewing on a watermelon and then putting it back in the saw a man taking the watermelon and I saw that an employee saw that and he didn’t do anything about that is really bad service I would not recommend it in the floor has holes once once my kid tripped on them and heat and blood started coming out of his nose and I reported it to the manager that they were a...

Fawesome. Both types of maggots where perfect. Perfect avocados ready to eat today or a and they have some that will be ready in a few days. Either way unbelievably fresh produce. When I go to King Sooper to get an avocado it's always a $2 rock that is so hard you can probably throw through a glass window. So if you want great produce at better prices than King Sooper or even Walmart for that matter. You just have to know what you're looking for. There's also a restaurant inside the store which is also fawesome. I love them. They're my new best friends. Now all I have to do is learn to speak Spanish. 🤔. Just kidding. Everyone there spoke perfect English no problems...
