I had seen this place a few times and was genuinely excited to finally try it out. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t meet expectations.
When we arrived, the waitress attempted to seat us on the left side of the restaurant, which was already very crowded. I politely asked if we could sit on the right side instead. Her response felt dismissive—she threw her arms up, sighed heavily, said something to a coworker in Spanish, and then waved us over with what felt like an attitude. I tried to keep it light by saying, “It’s okay, don’t worry about it,” but the energy was already off.
I came with a friend and my two-year-old. For two adults and one toddler, we were charged $60. I specifically mentioned that my daughter was only two, so I was surprised by the total. When I asked for a breakdown of the bill, we were only given the transaction receipt—not an itemized one showing prices or what we were charged for. That raised some concerns.
We were asked to pay before eating, which may be standard for them—possibly due to the area—but it still felt a bit off-putting.
As for the buffet itself, it was just okay. Some dishes looked fresh, others not so much. The pozole and tamales were the highlights for me, and my daughter really enjoyed the enchiladas. However, nothing was labeled, and if there were signs, they were only in Spanish. While I respect and understand the cultural context, it did make navigating the buffet a little tricky for someone unfamiliar with certain dishes.
What really made the experience uncomfortable was the vibe. After getting a plate for my toddler and going back up to make my own, I noticed stares and subtle attitude from some of the staff. It didn’t feel like a welcoming or family-friendly environment.
Overall, I’m glad I tried it and can say I’ve been—but between the questionable pricing, the awkward energy, and the inconsistent food quality, I don’t see...
Read moreFriendly staff. Decent food and really good selection. Way overpriced for a buffet. Over 70 bucks for myself my 13 year old and my 4 year old? Would have come back again if not for the price.
I was accidentally over charged on my first visit but the food was way too good to stay away. After coming back several times with my two kids this has become one of our favorite places.
Today is 1/23/21. My kids and I have been going to this restaurant for over 5 years. We've raved about it to many friends and relatives. We love the food and it has become one of our favorites. After the quarantine, it was the first place we dined at. However, this visit was very different from any other visit as we were told we had to pay first before eating. The lady who seated us made sure my daughter paid before any of us were allowed to get in line or even place our drink order. We did as we were asked as we thought this was a new policy they had established since our last visit in the fall. We even discussed this new way of doing things at the table while we were enjoying our meal until we noticed something a little off. We noticed several other families that came in after us, get right in line, eat and then be allowed to pay afterward as has been the usual practice at the restaurant every other time we have visited. That left a real bad taste in my mouth. This saddens me. We love this place. I'm usually pretty laid back and able to shake most things off. But realizing that we were the only non-Hispanic family in the place... I really don't want to assume anything. So it's better if we just don't come back. Some things just...
Read moreThis is the most authentic Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in the United States. The staff were very friendly, the food was extremely authentic and delicious and I felt like I was back in Mexico. I had to remind myself that I was in Colorado. If you want an amazing Mexican cuisine experience without visiting Mexico itself this is the place to be.
The food, I only gotten to try about 1/4 of what they had to offer because there was such a large selection but what I did have was absolutely delicious. I’ve always wanted to try mole chicken which they had and it was a very unique dish. The soup you can tell was made with fresh chicken broth and was probably the best soup I’ve ever had. The Chile salsa that was in the big bowl by the buffet was spot on! I typically don’t like dipping salsa but this salsa was the perfect amount of spicy with so many flavors. The waitress kindly brought me out fresh and warm tortilla which is loaded with the salsa and the fajita meat and it just doesn’t get any better.
The price was very fair at only 16.99 for a Saturday dinner and during the weekday 13.99. With a tip included I paid $25 which is well deserved because the waitress was very accommodating. The only thing I regret was not be able able to try everything but that’s what the next few trips to this restaurant are for. It was a all around authentic experience and I’m excited to go back and try...
