Not surprised to see these bad reviews. I was threatened to have the cops called on my wife and me for trying to clarify a simple billing issue on their app. This happened on New Year's eve. The guy was probably mad that he had to work that shift but that is no excuse to treat customers with disrespect. First I politely asked the checkout employee why the total on the app was not adding up. (It was adding $12 in tax for a $10 order!) She took my phone and passed it to another employee. I stepped aside so she could help others. The employee looked at the phone all confused and could not figure it out. Then he takes my phone (without asking me first) to the kitchen area. There were 3 other employees huddled up around him trying to figure it out. 10 minutes pass. I have personal and financial information on my phone like everybody else. I was not comfortable with my phone being passed around like that. I asked (mind you -asked, not yelled) if the manager could just come to the counter and fix this instead of my phone being passed around. The "manager" who looked like a high school kid approached me aggressively and said -"Call the app, we can't figure it out." He was very dismissive and sounded rude - rolling his eyes and mumbling curse words. I asked him why he could not just adjust the amount and get us going since it was clearly an app error. He said he could not flat-out refuse to help us any further. All this happened without any provocation from my end. This is when I took out my camera and started recording this. He obviously did not like that and took out his own camera to record us. Then he asked us to leave or he would call the police. We started walking towards the door and he lunged forward in a very threatening way and followed us to the door. I have contacted their corporate office regarding this matter. Read moreI went to this Popeye's Chicken location last night to order 8 piece family combo and an extra side for $25.03. I gave them my main bank debit card which I had just used and I knew had more than enough money to cover that bill, but they told me my bill was declined. I gave them another credit card which went thru. When I pulled out to the parking lot and checked my debit card account not only did I have the money to cover it, the payment went thru meaning between 2 cards I paid $50 for $25 bill. When I went back in to complain and get money back, a women in front of me was having the same issue. When the manager came out to talk to us, she needed to make it clear that wasn't their fault, it was the credit machines fault...while never showing any sign of compassion or empathy. She also said they could not reimburse either bill. It would be my responsibility to fix it, not theirs or the credit machine. They said to ask my bank to reimburse me which didn't make any sense. All she would keep saying OVER AND OVER was it wasn't their fault and they could and would do nothing. The other lady who got affected was the only one to help me out and told me to to fill out a fraud report with the bank and also file complaint about the store. I told the manager, even though Popeye's was one of my wife's and mine favorite places (despite them forgetting stuff in our drive thru orders in the past, but that this time was the last straw and we would never be back. So then I get home and contact my bank and they told me what I needed and asked me if I go the name of the manager I talked to. I didn't, so I call the store....a total of 13 times over the span of 90 minutes on Saturday night after 7 and 5 times Sunday morning between 10:30 and 12. The didn't pick up the phone once.
