This is a step up from the Indian restaurant that was previously in its place. Taj hits the right spot with good food and ambiance. I decided to try their weekday lunch buffet on a Thursday afternoon.
The Good The space is inviting and appreciate the sign outside that listed the day's buffet specials. The food is flavorful and spiced just right. It is yum. The space is clean with service that was attentive and very courteous. Pleasantly surprised to see proper cutlery and cloth napkins in a Indian lunch buffet. Fresh buttered tandoori naan was served hot tableside on request. The spread included 3 vegetarian dishes and 4 non-veg items plus the quintessential tandoori chicken along with 2 varieties of rice.
The bad There was only tomato soup in form of a starter which was lukewarm and unmemorable. For dessert there was a singular small bowl of gulab jamun that did not do justice to the variety and quality of sweets offered in Indian cuisine. While the service was courteous, it would help if plates were removed in a timely manner. There was a group of office workers at the adjacent table and a pile of plates with leftover food detracted form the otherwise upscale feel.
The Ugly Price! - a weekday lunch buffet will set you back by $23.99 + tax + tip (which was requested to be paid in cash). I paid $60 for 2. At $30 per person this is more of a rare treat than a regular lunch joint. I can see people coming in for a celebratory work lunch but for an average Joe like myself, this is way out of my budget. I might return to try their weekend buffet which promises Indian favorites like biryani. However, I would need sometime to recover form the current...

The biriyani here is nothing short of perfection — each grain of rice is infused with aromatic spices, layered with tender, marinated meat, and served steaming hot. Whether you choose chicken, lamb, or vegetarian, it’s clear the chef has mastered the delicate balance of flavors that makes biriyani a classic.
The chicken curry is equally outstanding — rich, velvety, and full of depth. The gravy bursts with the robust flavor of slow-cooked spices, and the chicken is so tender it practically melts in your mouth. It's the kind of dish that leaves you reaching for one more bite, long after you're full.
What truly sets this place apart is the new chef’s skill and passion for Indian cuisine. Every dish reflects meticulous preparation and respect for tradition, yet there's a creative flair that keeps things exciting. From the homemade naan to the expertly spiced chutneys, you can taste the craftsmanship in every bite.
