A Haven for Coffee and Donut Lovers: Tucked away in the heart of Austin, Texas, lies a gem that will captivate your senses and leave you craving for more – Angel's Donuts and Treats. This cute bakery and coffee shop seamlessly blends vintage charm with modern delights, making it an absolute must-visit. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the unique layout. The entrance I used led me into a spacious, living-room-like area complete with plush couches and seats, exuding warmth and coziness. A narrow passageway, reminiscent of an alley, guided me to the cashier and ordering area, flanked by another entrance and an inviting patio with additional seating outdoors. This clever design creates an intimate atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and indulging. The aroma of freshly baked donuts wafted through the air, teasing my taste buds and building anticipation. I opted for the iced mocha, original glazed donut, and chocolate sprinkle donut – a trio that would prove to be a match made in heaven. The iced mocha was velvety smooth, rich, and expertly crafted, with a deep, satisfying flavor that rivalled some of the best coffee shops in the city. Paired with the donuts, it was a symphony of flavors and textures. The original glazed donut was a masterclass in simplicity, boasting a delicate balance of sweetness and tender, fluffy interior. The chocolate sprinkle donut added a delightful pop of color and flavor, its moistness and subtle chocolate notes elevating the experience. Beyond the exceptional food and drink, Angel's Donuts and Treats boasts an impressive collection of board games and books, inviting patrons to linger and socialize. This thoughtful touch transforms the space into a vibrant community hub, fostering connections and memories.

Read moreWe stop here often. Sometimes to take treats home and other times we enjoy there. The majority of the times we have visited have been early in the morning before school. The employees have always been so friendly and welcoming.
They have great gluten-friendly options...which is what brought us here the first time (a couple of us in the family are gluten free) and then we were hooked. There are a few GF donut flavors available. Powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar and chocolate iced. The donuts are pretty good...not a favorite but nice to have GF donut options. Hopefully they'll end-up having other flavors for these. There is a large variety of non-gluten-friendly donuts available, as well. I've never tried any of those but they look really good!
While the donuts aren't our favorites, their other GF options keep us coming back. The macarons, cake balls and boba teas are our favorite. The macarons are some of the best in Austin. The only GF cake balls options that they have are vanilla and chocolate but they're really good.
There are GF muffins sometimes, as well. We've had the blueberry before. My husband is not GF and he likes the Kolaches. Other non-gluten-friendly treats that I've seen are breakfast tacos, beignets, muffins, a large variety of cake balls, brownie bites and cake/dessert jars.
There is a fridge full of bottled drinks. They have New Orleans-style coffee...it has chicory in it, so you'll want to be a fan of chicory if you order their coffee. They now have oat milk available for a creamer, which I like adding to my coffee. Also on the menu are a variety of hot lattes, iced coffees/lattes, frappes, teas and Italian sodas- we haven't tried any of those yet!
There are great seating options- indoors and some outdoor seating, as well. In the back, there is a small couch, chairs and coffee table to hang around. There's a selection of board games that you can play while visiting.
We've never had a bad...
Read moreSo.. I have been addicted to this place. Mostly because I love Boba and there really isnt another one around my apt. This little donut place is pretty interesting. Its right next to Mattress firm in front of new movie theater that just opened. The front entrance facing the theatre is where the counter is to order, be warned, there is a giant tree right infront so it actually took me a few circling around the parking lot to find it at first. The back entrance takes you to their sitting area and you just walk right through to the other side to the counter. There is plenty of sitting space so its great to bring your friends, a mini date, or have yourself a little study time.
Now on to the food and drinks! I have tried about half their cake balls: Chocolate mint, orange chocolate, chai, red velvet, smores, strawberry, cookies n cream. their cake balls are 2.50 and the cake inside is the most moist out of any cake ball place around. To me, as much as I enjoy the little morsel bites, its hard for me to splurge that much on them very often. For their boba, running at $4 bucks a cup, I have tried Black Tea, Green Tea, Strawberry, and taro. Their other flavors are hazelnut, mango ( think Im missing like another 2 flavors). There isnt as much choices to choose from as other Boba places. They told me their use a non dairy thing for their black tea to get the milky taste. Also, their boba is very chewy and warm, so make sure you stir your drink before you take your first sip. Finally, the donuts. Afterall, this is a donut shop right? I have had the chocolate glaze, blueberry, and what everyone else raves about: the MAPLE BACON. There actually is sliced pieces of bacon on top! I loved it, sweet and salty. Yum!
So all in all, this place I think is a little pricier, but because its so close by, its delicious enough...
