Definitely is not a fancy place and very unassuming but dare to be surprised by the food. It is so good and I’m confident to say competes head to head with an Austin institution: Matt’s El Rancho. The prices are definitely more reasonable than Matt’s. I got a margarita for $11- it’s good and very well balanced. I ordered a carne asada which I think was $18. It’s a thin piece of meat but it’s perfectly grilled where it’s slightly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Hubby got the grilled chicken plate, which was covered with cheesy goodness. The pico de gallo is very well-done and well-seasoned. I’m so glad because many places overlook the pico. I got an enchilada a la carte to try it out - really homemade tasting with a delicious gravy on top. One was perfect because I was pretty full after the carne asada! The chips and salsa are nice to start off the meal but wow, the salsa was quite spicy that day. I cannot wait to go back to Camino Real soon- my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Used to be my favorite local texmex, used to go there all the time for menudo. Must be a new owner. Menudo there now is the worse, has no meat in it, just lots of water lots of salt and lots of cheap seasoning. Food looks and taste so cheap. Spicy margarita was just regular margarita with bunch of jar jalapenos in it, could not drink it. The staff waiters and waitresses are providing really good service though, only the food sucks.

This spot has the best stuffed jalapeños around! Green pepper breaded and stuffed with 2 different cheeses. Simple and delicious. The best part is they make them fresh! They are also huge but they reheat really well in thr air fryer. I've been coming here for a couple years for these and they are very consistent. I tried their new enchiladas and they were decent. I definitely recommend the stuffed jalapeños.

I visited this establishment yesterday and decided to come back today. The food is pretty decent, but I had a very unprofessional encounter with one of the wait staff. I came days in a row because I liked the green salsa. I asked for a bowl of the salsa and had them refill it before I received my meal. When my meal came, I was trying to flag my server to refill the salsa. She did not see me, but another server saw and asked if I needed anything. I said yes, I would like some more salsa. She replied, "You had 2?" I said, "What?" because I did not understand her question. She said, "You had 2 bowls?" I said "yes" and she replied,"And you want another one?" I looked at her like she was crazy and said,"Yea!" I have never in my life have been questioned about a refill on a bowl of salsa. She was a red-headed waitress and has been working there for years. The more professional way to handle it is if more than 3 little bowls off salsa was a problem, would be to say, " Sir, there will be an additional charge for more salsa. I would have gladly agreed. I feel her response was very unprofessional and bordering on disrespect. It's a shame to lose a potential 2 or three times a week customer over a bowl of salsa. I did see a lot of bad reviews for poor customer service. Now I see why. I don't think I will be going back. There are plenty of good Tex-mex places in Austin to be bothered with this level of unprofessionalism. After a hard days work, I don't feel like dealing with rude people. I will take my business somewhere it is...

Was a regular for 3 years 4 days a week was ok until 3 different people at 3 different times showed me on my receipts and bank statements didnt add up. They were stealing had from me not one not 2 but 3times. So the third time I filed legal charges which was about 3 months ago in march of 2021. Then onto of that several other regulars that had been going there for years w me they are now rude to them. They know thier number again because we were regulars there for almost 3 years so when ppl ik call to still give money to them even after knowing they steal from ppl they leave them ON HOLD JUST TOO IGNORE THEM SMH NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL MY HUSBAND FAMILY IS ALL BUSINESS OWNERS OF ALL KINDS FOOD , SALONS ECT IN ATX AND THEY KNOW HOW TO OWN AND RUN BUSINESSES. BUT THIS PLACE HERE IS A SHAME TO EVERY RESTAURANT AND FOOD INDUSTRY AROUND. VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL THEY NEED CLASSES ON HOW TO GIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOW NOT TO STEAL FROM HARD WORKING PPL WHO DONT GET HELP OF ANY SORT READ BETWEEN THE LINES. I wont go as far as to putting the proof here for ppl to see how they are thieves because there is a open case still . But stay tuned the proof will be posted when I'm able. Ppl just because a recipet says one thing check ur bank statements also .then when I asked to speak to owner the girl told me she was her but I knew she was lying she was just a waitress. But if that's how they handle issues...

Read all the reviews on Google. Sad to say my experience was less than enjoyable.. Ordered Breakfast tacos to go.. Three bacon and egg and two barbacoa tacos.

Absolutely the worst Breakfast tacos I've had. Egg were light but extremely runny and way and I mean WAAYYY to Greasy. Bacon seems like it was the microwavable kind. All three were the same way.

Barbacoa, Let me tell you. I could change my cars oil with the amount of Grease in just one taco.. The meat didn't smell but after I took a bite you could tell it was already spoiled. The Service, lady there was ok.. Not the best, and definitely not the type that greets you when you come in, or says hello, or makes eye contact, or smiles, or waves, she does nothing in anyway to acknowledge your presence. My order took every bit of 35 minutes from ordering to walking out the door. Again, after reading all the reviews, I was anxious to try them out. But I didn't enjoy not one minute of my visit or the food I ordered. I think I will take my...
