I want to take a moment to share my experience today so others in the Austin area can make informed decisions. I strongly advise against purchasing meat or fish from this particular store. They clearly do not follow proper guidelines or regulations when it comes to handling fish, and their overall customer service is deeply disappointing.

I stood in line for over an hour, and even after that long wait, my order was never processed. The staff seemed to prioritize only meat orders, completely ignoring those waiting to purchase fish. If the store has no intention of serving fish customers properly, they should clearly state that fish is not available or that customers will face extended wait times. This would save people time and frustration.

The service was truly poor, and I wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone. On top of the lack of service, the prices are high, and the quality does not match the cost. After this experience, I checked reviews about their fish section and was surprised to see how many people had similar complaints—I wish I had read them beforehand.

Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I hope the store takes this feedback seriously and improves both its service and product quality...

I used to really like Famous Meats, but my recent experience was terrible. The store sign clearly says they open at 10 AM. I drove almost 17 miles to get there on time, only to be told by the worker that I had to wait another 40 minutes because they were unloading inventory.

When I asked if I could just buy some already packed items, he was extremely rude and dismissive. He acted like I wasn’t welcome at all also very disrespectful. On top of that, he didn’t even understand what I was saying, and I couldn’t understand him either which made the whole situation even more frustrating.

First time trying this place. The cashier guy was so rude, had long nails (zero hygeine), and tried to scam us twice. First he charged us for organic chicken, without asking if we wanted regular or organic. Then when I said something, he switched to regular but charged for "skin on" weight. Why would you weigh with skin when you are throwing away the skin? I just noticed when I got home. Half the weight goes in skin and the butchers waist so much of the chicken like half the wings which are perfectly edible. And the front guy refuses to communicate with the butchers so there is nobody training them or monitoring them. What a...
