I usually only write reviews for great experiences or awful ones. Freddy's is normally OK. Good for a quick bite when you are tired of the other burger chains and or want some frozen custard. The experience on 6/6/2018 however was bad enough to make the wife and I never come back. We went in around 9 PM on 6/6/2018 and the place was empty. The young guy taking our order was being trained (looked like he was still in High School). No big deal. He did seem like being there was punishment or something, but could have just been a bad day. Not rude, just not friendly either. We get our food and sit down in one corner of the dining area. About 5 to 10 minutes later a group of 4 tall lanky guys walk in. They look like they belonged to the local high school tennis club. Other than that, we barely notice them joking around with each other. They order and sit at the opposite corner of the establishment. A few minutes later we notice them getting louder than they were initially. My wife and I look up to see one of them turning around in his seat and leaning out the side of their booth to look at us and make what sounded like barnyard animal sounds. WTH? We're a mixed race couple and don't weigh 300 lbs combined. So we watch them for about a minute and they finally ceased being obnoxious and went back to their own conversation. Never had that happen before. Then another guy walks in alone who looks like he might be on the baseball team of a high school. He orders and sits down a few booths away but facing us. So far, still just 3 parties. The 4 boys, the lone boy, and us. The lone guy just stares straight ahead at us. Minutes roll by and he is still staring straight ahead. Again, WTH? Dining area still not remotely full and the only place you can train your gaze is on us?! So we stare back. After a few minutes I guess he got the picture that was not going to make us react and he put in his earbuds and left us alone (mostly).
I mean, it does not seem like a big deal right? So a few jerks cracked some jokes your way. So some creepy kid tried to stare you down. But, in light of the tension in this country regarding social issues, it had us wondering what on earth was going on. Like being in a movie where you are in public but you realize every one else is part of some cult and out to do you harm or trying to threaten you into leaving some crazy little town. Even my pregnant wife commented about how uneasy she felt. She said it reminded her of the reason she stopped dating guys like that (guys that seemed to always have time to screw with people they did not know, and guys that seemed to think they are superior to the rest of the world by nature of their high birth - even though they were just as poor as their neighbor). If all that were not enough, another group of slightly older looking dudes sat down right behind us and started in on their e-cigarettes. I don't know what the law is on those things in places that ban regular smoking, but I don't want to be around it with my pregnant wife. Thankfully we were done eating when they started smoking and were on our way out. As we were driving off, we noticed that the lady friends of the two smokers had arrived. One of the ladies stepped out with the smoking dude who proceeded to double over like he was about to vomit right in front of the entrance. Classy.
It made me remember the last time we went to Freddy's which was in Houston late at night; our dining was interrupted by the presence of a cop that just walked in and stood in the corner of the dining room. The officer did not approach anyone but they were there for half the time we were eating. Just weird. Maybe the place turns into a place for high school kids to hang out and act like fools past a certain hour. We never experienced anything like this when we went during daylight hours. But we won't be taking a chance on going back to any location after last night. Too many places to eat a cow to worry about this...
Read moreFreddy's has some tasty food! :) I was there a few weeks ago and I ordered a steakburger with cheese and some vegetables, but the cashier misheard me and I received a steakburger with only one or two of the vegetables I had requested and no cheese. Now, he hadn't charged me for the cheese because he'd misheard me, which is fine. I went up to the counter and asked them to add the cheese and vegetables, offering to pay for the difference to add on the cheese. The charming girl behind the counter, Corrie-Arnell (I promised I'd give you a good review and I'm finally delivering!), waved away my offer, saying, "Oh, you don't have to pay extra if we made a mistake. Let me take care of that for you." She had my burger remade, had all the fixings I wanted added, AND they remade my fries so they would be as hot and fresh as the burger when it was ready. Hell yes! I offered her a tip in appreciation of her awesome customer service, but she turned it down, so I insisted that I would write her a review, and there you have it. :) Thank you, Corrie! You have great customer...
Read moreWe order 60 dollars worth of food through the drive thru and it was a dissatisfying experience. They took a while to make the food (which is understandable given the size of the order and they offered complementary ice cream for the inconvenience of the wait), but once we got the food the order was not correct. Items were made wrong, some were replaced by another menu item, items were missing, and the food was not warm like it was freshly made. I am just confused on if it took the additional time why was it not made correctly and with all the menu items that were purchased. Unfortunately, we did not discover this until after leaving and arriving home because we assumed they were taking the extra time to ensure the food was made fresh and correctly, so when we tried to contact the store via the number listed online the phone line is inactive and the number cannot be reached. Very frustrated and very disappointed in the service that we received here and would NOT recommend this location to anyone either ordering online or...
