Hayley Cakes and Cookies — Restaurant in Austin

My stepson is going through a rubix cube phase so we wanted to get him a rubix cake for his bday. The whole process was super confusing, I filled out the online form per the instruction of one of the employees. I received a message back right away to use one of their stock “sweet 16” cakes because it had a rubix cube cookie and to just clearly state what I wanted as decor. I did that and had 2 or 3 calls from their “design” team because they were so confused why the sweet 16 cake was there. Same but I was following the instructions of their employees.

So we cleared it up and I asked for a rubix cube cookie and design along the sides of the single tier.

Fast forward to when my husband went to pick it up…this is what we got. For $150??? I could have gotten a better designed cake from H‑E‑B. The writing looks insane, it’s not even centered and the sizing is so bizarre. The cube on the cookie - I don’t even know what you would call that. The design on the sides were also a joke.

I wanted to get custom cookies done for a bridal shower, one of them including a traditional Pakistani wedding dress. I had sent over an example design as inspo but was told they couldn’t translate the dress into a cookie. I understood because the design was complicated which is why I explained to them it was just inspiration and I can send over a simplified version and even offered to draw something out to show them so they could accommodate, again emphasizing it doesn’t have to be that extreme level of detail, just the shape and some simple design. I was then told the dress “was not their style”. I had seen other cookies they designed with a lot of details so it’s not as if they couldn’t do the simple design if they just worked with me a little. Luckily I was able to find someone who was able to make the original complex design. My sister recommended this bakery to me to purchase the cake for my nephew’s birthday. I paid an extra $20 for my order to be delivered by 1pm on the day of the party because my flight was delayed, but the delivery never came. No one at the bakery answered the phone or responded to my emails when I tried to check the status. I ended up having to pick up the cake the NEXT DAY, only to be told that I should have contacted the delivery company myself even though I scheduled and paid for delivery directly through their website. To make things worse, my cake was made incorrectly. The complete lack of customer service, accountability, and communication is unacceptable. If no one at the bakery is going to answer phones or emails, then why even offer delivery through your site?
