I was very pleasantly surprised by my first visit to La Frontera. I live in the area and will admit that I had low expectations given the checkered history of new restaurants here - especially with other excellent Mexican restaurant options around. But the chips, salsa, food, and margaritas were all excellent - I completely cleaned my plate. Service was also good. It was a little dark in our booth so maybe use brighter bulbs? But otherwise a solid first impression. Will definitely be going back.

We tried this spot on Friday and loved it so much we came back the next day! Even though it was only their second day open, the service was impressively fast and super friendly. Our food and drinks came out quickly, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We’re so excited to have a great new option in the neighborhood. The only thing that could make it even better would be some outdoor seating and a little play area for kids—but even without that, it’s a fantastic addition to the area!

Seated quickly. Waitress was nice but overwhelmed. Food was flavorful but the rice and pork were barely warm. Not satisfying at all. It's safe to assume it was "sitting in the window too long" which is strange because it came out pretty fast. Feels like it's not a great value for the price. One of the pork pieces was just a block of fat.

I'll give grace as I know it was only their 2nd night open, but our service this evening was not good. The food and drinks, however, were! My husband and I ordered a margarita and a mojito. We waited about 15mins for drinks, and then they came back with my margarita and said they had just run out of mojitos, so my husband waited another 10mins for a different drink. Another couple was seated at least 10-15mins after us, received their food before us, got to-go boxes, and were checked out before we were. I ordered charro beans but received refried beans. Not a big deal, but I was expecting to be offered the charro beans and never was. I only got an "I'm sorry that happened". They didnt bring the tortillas out with my husband's barbacoa and said they'd get them. The server continued to serve two other tables while my husband waited about 10+mins. We ended up having to ask someone to bring them. The barbacoa, enchiladas, and margaritas were still really good. Unfortunately, they were also out of the cochinita pibil and the carnitas. The salsa was fresh and delicious, but a little too much on the spicy side for me. We are happy there's a Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood, and we will be back again to give them another chance with the service. I'll update my rating if it...

This place opened within the last month and I was, initially and honestly, a bit confused at their sequence of actions leading up to opening. Seemed kind of quick and abrupt- but I've never opened a restaurant before so who knows? Anyways, my beer was ice cold, my guacamole was extremely fresh, and my food was really, really tasty. I ordered the Asada Fajitas and it did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and the price was spot on in this economy.

My service was incredible and nothing was ever empty, not once did I think "I wish my bartender/waiter checked in on me". Please keep this service up.

I am local to the location and I will have a hard time choosing between La Frontera and Flores down the road.

Other notes- this place needs a more stocked bar, some more integral decorations, and needs to take the time to ensure their employees are all on the same page. Still getting a 5/5...

My husband and I went for the first time last night. We sat at the bar per our usual so we could watch sports. The service there was welcoming and attentive. The layout was odd in that one large side of the bar was dedicated to service by wait staff of the restaurant and it was the side with the nice views of the patio. Our side faced the restrooms and kitchen. The food was good but not exceptional. The menu had many options. There may need to be more training as when we ordered the guacamole appetizer, we only received a tiny ramekin like would come as part of a meal. The queso was more generous but lacked much flavor. The drinks were ok but the bar is limited in its tequila selection- not one anejo was available. It was affordable especially compared to other options in the area. We might try again one more time - hopefully the management will use these...
