Disorganized service, long waits, okay food. Details below:
A long wait is one thing (excusable with kind service and good food), but the disorganization is unacceptable. We waited 15 minutes for a server to stop by after being seated. Two tables (of 4 and 2) were seated after us and put orders in after us. We watched as no food exited the kitchen for almost 30 minutes for the poor patrons who came in before us. When food finally started coming out, it was for the two tables that came in after us and 2 other tables ahead of us, with 2 other groups being skipped over besides ours. The orders were very similar, so not an issue of us getting eggs benedict but them not. Those two tables ate, paid, and left before we were served. I felt especially bad for the family with a young child whose meal should've come out before ours: we waited 50 minutes for food, and they finally got food another 10 minutes after us. No check-ins from the server, no explanation offered. Other patrons were asking for checks from the host because their server was never coming around, and Still had to wait another 5 minutes. There were 4 servers for 11 tables, so truly inexplicable to not be checking in or making sure all was well during the long wait. My husband's food was cold when it finally arrived and hollandaise sauce tasted like jarred/premade sauce. My breakfast bowl was hot and pretty good. My son's "fruit explosion" French toast had zero fruit on it, just a sauce/syrup, which was disappointing given the menu description of berries. Food prices were okay, but juice was $8 (we stuck with water). Not sure if the cook kept burning stuff or what happened, but any explanation would have been better than silence, which suggests this is a typical day at this place. Other recent reviews seem to bear that out, unfortunately. A shame, because the breakfast bowl was solid and I'd eat it again, but not with this...
Read moreButter Whisk has many things right, but needs to attend to some of the basic customer experience elements. The inside of the restaurant is clean, comfortable and modern with green accents and upbeat music. But the front door is plastered with signs that are unwelcoming such as “We have the right to refuse service…” etc. in addition, there is grease marker written on the door with “BYOB” and their hours. The result is a cluttered and negative impression. Upon entering, the team is present, but not really welcoming. One gets the feeling they are checking off boxes rather than seeking to make you feel comfortable. There are no less than 7 light bulbs out on the ceiling, over half the chairs are missing cushions and the “fresh orange juice” machine stands empty. My overall impression is that they setup this restaurant nicely and then have neglected to do the upkeep since.
I ordered the House Breakfast, which is 2 eggs, breakfast meat, and two sides. I chose turkey sausage, biscuit and hashed browns. The eggs were too cooked, hash browns greasy and lukewarm warm. But the biscuits were hot and fluffy and the sausage was juicy and delicious. This was a basic meal and didn’t leave a lasting impression.
Another point worth mentioning is the menus. At the start of each section there is a bright red, all caps message saying “NO SUBSTITUTIONS!!!” That could have been written once at the top rather than assaulting the customer with it. This is just another example of details coloring the visit. The menu itself was faded and didn’t give a good impression of quality or cleanliness.
I would love to see the owners step back and remember what it is like to be the customer. If they attend to the details and focus on consistency, this could be a place I would come to regularly. If it stays as is, it will be...
Read moreFantastic Breakfast Experience at Butter Whisk Brunch House!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Butter Whisk Brunch House, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly service, setting the tone for a delightful meal.
The atmosphere at Butter Whisk is cozy and inviting, with charming decor that creates a welcoming ambiance. Despite it being Easter and crowded, my party and I were seated promptly, thanks to the efficient staff.
Now, onto the food! I ordered the combo with eggs over easy and French toast, and every bite was a delight. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the French toast was simply divine – fluffy on the inside and perfectly golden on the outside. My wife opted for the Monte Cristo sandwich, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
What truly sets Butter Whisk apart is not just the delicious food, but the attention to detail and quality of ingredients. Each dish was presented beautifully and tasted even better than it looked.
Overall, my experience at Butter Whisk Brunch House was nothing short of fantastic. From the friendly service to the mouthwatering food, everything exceeded my expectations.
