Los Pepes — Restaurant in Austin

I had the chilaquiles and boy were they on point!! I got the red sauce and it was super tasty, the flavor was that perfect earthy spice that you get from de chile Guajillo!! Every chip covered perfectly in sauce, with crema and onions. The eggs that topped it were a perfect medium that oozed the yolk over my plate. The beans were on point with the made from home flavor, and the perfect texture. The salsa verde and the potatoes that came with my plate were also way too good, the salsa was heavy on the tomatillo but the spice level slapped!! 10 out of 10...

I was in the mood for tacos and Los Pepe's happened to be very close. I was a little nervous to go considering my Spanish isn't the best but luckily they had a couple of people to help me order, figure out what I wanted and get me right. I got two breakfast tacos and I was definitely very pleasantly surprised with how fresh, hot and tasty they were. The whole staff was very helpful and kind. We were first time customers. Went in about 1 pm on a Sunday. Place was a mess. Food on tables and the floor. Only 1 family was there, so we did not understand, the reason for the mess. The waitress, was nice but seemed uninterested in her job. I guess we can't complain. Neither waitress were on their phone. Anyway. Long story short. Food was meh. Prices were reasonable for Austin.
