Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Austin

I enjoy pizza and frankly Papa John's has the best thin crust pizza (to me anyway) of any of the local shops that deliver.

I never much liked Papa John himself and in fact boycotted them for a while before he was ousted by the Board of Directors.

My grand kids like pizza too and sometimes it's just quick and easy to order online for delivery.

So a month or so ago, on what was obviously a really busy night, I ordered. They have a pizza tracker on the website, that's pretty handy. It tells you: "it's being made", "being boxed" and then "it's on its way" with estimated time of delivery.

That particular occasion I called after 2 hours and they were very apologetic and put the manager on the line. He apologized and said he was short drivers. Just then it came to my door, but it was lukewarm.

He said he was in the system and cancelled my payment, what else could he do? I told him that it was fine, and thanked him. In retrospect I was really sorry I didn't tip the driver (originally the tip was included in the payment he cancelled).

I warmed up my tasty thin crust pizza and the grand kids ate theirs without bothering.

Last week I ordered again. Unfortunately this time it started to really pour shortly after I placed the order. This order took about an hour and 45 minutes, however we got over 5" of rain that night. It was a torrential downpour and I gave the driver a few extra dollars when he arrived (with a fairly hot pizza).

Imagine the pleasant surprise when I received in the mail today a post card for a free pizza because they said they took too long last time.

So if i could leave negative or no stars i would . I'm heavily sedated from a major surgery and from out of town I called to order a pizza and explain to them this fact and they say that they can't delivered some where I'm at because I'm out of their delivery area. Just barely out of it at that so I informed them that I will drive their highly medicated on narcotics and risk my life and everybody else's life on the road and they say will offer you 50% off your pizza that's all they can do. Me myself if I was the store manager on duty I would take to persons Information down And I would clock out myself personally and deliver the pizza to them. Not carrying about consequences or anything else to do with the job or company whatsoever my concern would be about their customer satisfying them and making sure they were safe in the roads were safe. End of story and I'm sure Mr. Papa John himself would commend me for doing that and if he didn't well I got a few words for him to. Anyways if I could give negative stars or no stars. I would but the people answering the phone in that store were very rude and when I kept trying to call back they were trying to hang up on me and not even talk and all I want is a pizza all I wanted something to eat I've had major surgery I've been abandoned by my mother I'm from Kansas City not even from Texas she lives in Florida in has left me here. But that's beside the point but I've been abandoned and just wanted some pizza wanted something to eat so I still want some dam pizza somebody please deliver me some papa john's pizza...

I’m not sure what management this location is under or what bad mood they’re in but ALL THE employees here are rude as hell. I placed an online order and then called the store to try to get it at a later time because I couldn’t figure it out online and the woman who answered told me it was too late and then hung up on me. Then my husband called and tried to cancel the whole order and the other person hung on me! Mind you they had already charged me. And whenever I tried to get the pizza at the store that they said was in the oven, they said they cancelled the order and whenever I asked for a refund they couldn’t even do that! The gentleman with glasses literally walked away from me mid sentence. I left with them taking my money and no pizza. This location is under horrible management. The gentleman with glasses that looks like he’s trying to pull off being 20 but we both know the hat on his head is covering that 40 year old bald head. I’ve come to location all the time and now its been tainted by these people and their terrible customer service skills. I work in the customer service industry and I’ve had rude customers and ugly people and I’ve never been one. But to be treated like that is a whole new level of papa John’s I didn’t think...
