I think Banthai Express just became my go-to for a local Thai spot in southwest Austin. I was recommended this food truck by some Thai friends who said all of their dishes are solid. I've been here several times and ordered a variety of dishes and have enjoyed them all. The food is fresh, flavorful, and piping hot each time I order. It's easy to order both online, and just walk up to the window and order on the spot. There are a wide variety of dishes, and something for everyone in the family.

One thing I especially like about Banthai is that the dishes that are supposed to be spicy have some heat to them. Often I find Thai restaurants, in America at least, I think end up catering to people who want to order spicy dishes but don't actually like spicy food (go figure)...so the rest of us who do like...

I ate here for the first time on Sunday for dinner. I got the chicken pad thai medium spicy and tried some of their fried rice with chicken. I also decided to try their Thai Tea. Best pad thai I have had in Austin. I am huge fan of thai food and I have tried pad thai in Austin almost everywhere. This place takes the cake for the best pad thai I have ever had. It reminded me of Thailand when I visited. The service was so friendly. Their fried rice was also delicious and packed with flavors. Their thai tea was next level. It tasted like authentic thai tea from a Thailand vendor. This is easily best thai food I have had. You must eat here if you enjoy thai food. You will not be disappointed. 10/10. I...

food is pretty good. I'd give it 5 stars but i have a complaint.

i know that we are in a pandemic, but they have recently changed to online orders only. this is an additional $1.50 i called their # one day about 10 times thinking they were slammed only to get a text asking me to place order online. i order from here bc of the competitive prices. if this is some "sly" way of getting more money out of us, it's not okay. i dont think their pos charges them $1.50 per swipe of card. not even close. either way, i don't understand why they don't do phone order anymore OR WAIVE the online fee. it's kind of slimy. if i get a compelling reason for this other than maximizing income i will fix...

Banthai saved our Christmas! When our Christmas Eve dinner plans fell through, we thought we may not be able to find a last minute dinner solution. Banthai not only took our late order, but when we came to pick it up they gave us free Thai iced teas in the spirit of Christmas. I was so blown away by this, they really saved our night and made it even more special. The food is delicious, there's a big menu to explore, and the people that work here are always friendly and helpful. I'd love more veggies and the curries, but that's not a critique enough to take out a star. Overall an awesome food truck run by awesome people!

First time visit had three entrées, all ordered extra spicy and they were indeed, that way. Big portions, and ability to customize dishes with many add-ons for a price when ordering online. Pad Thai with shrimp was not annoyingly wet like some places. Good flavor. Pineapple Rice with tofu as protein was good ordered with extra bok choy. Green Curry with pork ordered with extra eggplant was good but a little disappointing as the sauce was not creamy. Nice lady works hard inside the truck. Order online to avoid waiting.
