I tried to go to this place because it was listed as part of the Texas Venture Crawl evening events (10/6) and so I am walking to the front entrance when the guy at the door tells me to throw away my water bottle because it's not allowed inside and that I can buy water inside. Why the hell would I do that when I already have a full water bottle in my hand? Your place isnt that important to go to or that you can treat people like that. I just went back to the main event space instead of dealing with a rude guy from the front door and because of that this place gets a 1 star rating. If you plan to host any parties for your organization use another place, there are plenty of other places where people wont be treated like that or just do private catering. This place always caught my eye whenever we walked by, so I was excited when one of the SXSW events we attended ended up being here.

Overall, Parlor & Yard was not a great venue for this event, and I wouldn’t come back for the...
Read moreI’ve always like coming here, however today they had 10 out of 11 TVs on the Bills (they are a Bills bar) but it’s a pre-season game there was no one was watching. The one tv was on the Olympics and had 11 people watching it, so I asked the bartender to switch one other tv to the Olympics since it was a women’s gold medal race. He refused and said not till the “male” basketball game came on. We finished our drinks and left — I’m still perplexed why you couldn’t turn one additional tv to the Olympics especially since it was pre-season and the Olympics are only once every four years. It was bad service but we ordered two more rounds next door and watched the...
