UPDATED JUNE 2023: I visited again and everything was delicious and my previous concerns were not tasted. It is still on the pricey side but that's the price for fresher food. In conclusion, I believe I just had a bad experience from years prior. I also saw the gentleman working in the front handle a very upset customer on the phone who was clearly in the wrong (didn't want spicy but ordered a bowl with jalapenos...) by offering a remake, free of charge, without jalapenos, if they came back. This is when I think the customer is not always right but that service deserves to be acknowledged. Updated to 5 stars

2018 (3 stars): Only come to this place if you're willing to shell out more money for fresher food. Maybe it was just me but my order (the salmon) was quite salty and I felt like I needed more rice to combat it. Did not use the soy sauce they gave me for my to-go order. They do give out quite a bit of poke, I'll give them that. I have been to a number of poke places and Poke-Poke gives a LOT less than others - but then again, this is Austin where portions are smaller and more expensive. The canned Asian drinks are also extremely expensive. Take a note from me and you can get the exact same ones at an Asian supermarket for half the price.

Would give 3.5 stars but can't, don't think it's worthy of 4...

Terribly unfortunate. We used to love this place. The last three times we've eaten here Elsa the Server has been cold and also doesnt seem to know anything about the business shes working for. Not sure if it's her or her lack of training but we will be finding a new poke spot after 3 years of patronage. A note for the owners of this california owned business. Here in Austin we go out of our way to support local businesses, in a time where restaurants and bars are are going out of business you should really be stepping up your game. Not putting stoned uniformed personnel at your front line. Good luck yall

Thanks for responding and sorry for the misunderstanding. I was told when I first started eating at your restaurant that it had originated in California. The Night i wrote this review was the 3rd encounter with Elsa. I was trying to redeem birthday rewards along with my accumulated rewards which I later figured out on my own were automatically added to my account. She had no Idea what i was talking about and made the interaction very frustrating. The previous interactions with her were also less than positive. My GF and I have been eating here fairly frequently for a few years and always had a warm interaction with other employees who knew and recognized us. Its just...

I am new to Poke. I only just recently became comfortable eating Sushi with raw fish INSIDE the roll, so I was very intimidated by the idea of raw fish piled on top of rice (Poke style). BUT...this place is DELICIOUS!!! We were in town for 3 days and ate at Poke-Poke twice (same location). I ordered the Shiso Salmon Poke each time. It was sooooooo good. I couldn't believe how buttery the salmon tasted and not at all fishy. The flavor combination in this bowl is perfect! Next time, I may add avocado though (not that it needs it). The hubby ordered the OG Poke and then a custom Poke bowl with Big Eye Tuna. He really liked both bowls, but enjoyed the Big Eye Tuna the most. We both ordered the smaller bowl option with white rice. It kept us plenty full.

The guys working here were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. We didn't have to wait long for our food. These guys are really good at what they do! Anytime that we are in town, we will definitely return for another delicious meal!

My only complaint is that...

A friend and I got some poke and boy, I wish I knew how expensive it was! $50 for 2 pounds of poke? Sure, 2 pounds seems like a lot but it's really just 2 small containers. It's an extra $5 for about a slice of avocado if I'm being generous. You'd think, wow, for that price, the poke's gotta be so fresh you could feel the fish swimming in your mouth! Nope. I've eaten a lot of poke before and I'd say it's supermarket level salmon. Run-of-the-mill, right on the cusp of going stale, diced up fish. It's soggy, salty, and depressing! If I separate the fish in my 1 pound container from all the avocado, onions, ginger, etc, it's not even half a pound of fish 😭 it's all filler. The worst part-- I keep finding fish bones while I eat! I understand that yes, salmon fish have fish bones, obviously. I also had an understanding that restaurants like this, poke places, were supposed to thoroughly de-bone the fish before serving it to customers. I was fooled by their high reviews but I hope no one else gets fooled like me.

I’ve had way better poke in much smaller, less developed cities in less developed states, where the portions for poke were larger, the fish was fresh, and the price was actually reasonable. Meanwhile, this Austin spot charged $52 for two bowls that were tiny, low-quality, and straight-up disappointing. Absolutely mid. • Rice tasted stale and poorly prepared. • Fish wasn’t fresh—had an off taste and texture. • Sauce didn’t mesh well with the poke—completely unbalanced. • Portions were ridiculously small for what they charged. For this price, I expected something at least decent, but this was one of the most mid experiences ever. There are way better poke spots for a fraction of the cost. Would not recommend—save your money.

We came here after visiting Austin and really enjoyed the food. It was a little different poke place than we are used to and we found the menu a little confusing so we just ordered the same thing for all of us. The salmon sushi was pretty fresh and all of us really enjoyed it. You do get a very good portion of sushi with the meal so we were all very pleased and full. The “only” reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because the server gave our food without gloves on and his thumb was literally touching the sushi. I did not say anything to my family and ignored it but it did bother me. Other than that, we really enjoyed this place for a quick stop before leaving Austin.
