Motor Village Inn gives you a budget-friendly spot close to downtown. Parking's easy, but don't expect top-notch service or rooms. Even in a non-smoking room, there's this lingering cigarette smell, and the sheets look like they've seen better days with some unexpected holes. The room's got its fair share of stains and humidity, plus a carpet that desperately needs a clean-up and a few buggy visitors. Considering the price, it's a bit of a letdown. Maybe look elsewhere if you're after a comfy stay without surprises.

Stay away from Room 201. Room and place seemed decent and the people working there were nice and very helpful. Went to bed at 2am only to get knocked out and attacked by something evil. Tried to pull me off the bed and chased me out of the place entirely. Never been a religious man or drank alcohol in my life either. Something evil is in that room. Don't stay here alone. May God bless and protect you.

Fighting outside. Lying about having bottom level rooms available when we have an Actual Disability. Couldn't even carry bag upstairs. Nothing in room worked Including the refrigerator, microwave, television etc. Refused to help with any appliances nor offered to switch rooms. Worst place in my Entire life to Waste $91!

After seeing so many deprecating and downright scary reviews of downtown Austin motels I saw that the Village Motor Inn was seemingly in a close location so I opted for it. The innkeeper and his wife were overseeing some of the housekeepers but were quite pleasant and he stopped to say hello when I arrived (albeit before check-in time). I assured them I knew I was early and would sit outside in the sun for awhile. After a bit his wife came out and informed me that the housekeeper was just finishing up and only lacked a couple of items so I was able to go ahead and check in and was very sweet. She reviewed my booking info, went over their policies and gave me my key. The motel was remodeled in 2018 but it is an older structure. The stairway and bannisters were solid and my room was on the top floor and out of the way of bustle and noise. The room had a queen bed, clean linen, fresh towels, the little shampoo envelopes were small for my amount of hair so I left those for the next occupant. The tub was ceramic and there was one little worn spot the size of a diner the back but the tub was clean, the shower head worked like one should (meaning it didn’t go off in 80 directions or WORSE, just barely spit at you! 😉) and the water was hot and I didn’t get a cloud of chlorine in my face when I turned on the faucet so, for me, that was a rather good sign… although I hadn’t asked if they filtered their water supply or not. The tv functioned but I didn’t watch it, I was exhausted. The refrigerator was exceedingly clean, no smells, spots or anything that would make you shame the door 🤣…the microwave looked very clean but I did not use it. The bed was VERY comfy (even with my sore hip) and the pillows and pillow cases smelled clean and pleasant. It was quite cool in Austin this weekend so I could’ve used a blanket but the heat source cranked to life when I turned it on and it warmed the room very adequately! If there was WiFi availability I couldn’t find it, I noticed the old, small kidney shaped pool had been filled in eons ago, the parking lot was well lit at night and visible to all. The Village Motel IS right on South Congress so I did hear police sirens wailing into the night a couple of times but I slept soundly otherwise. I saw zero evidence of bugs of any race, creed or color or signs of anything untoward that would have given me pause for thought. There’s a Poke restaurant across the side street Havana but I didn’t have time to sample their wares…this time. I felt safe in the area as I was traveling solo and was very glad I found The Village Motel! The one thing I’m disappointed about is that if I have to come back to the area I’ll need to stay elsewhere if I have my 2 elderly dogs with me (a Chihuahua and a tiny Miniature Pincher) because they do not allow pets. At. All. And NO VISITORS. But I appreciate that this is their business and livelihood and they should run it how they see...

this Motel experience has been the worst experience I've ever had in my life I was completelyI was cussed out for no reason I was threatened and I absolutely stay there for 5 days and I didn't have any company and I had no complacency did anything wrong the only thing they said I did wrong is with my five year old came over that he left rice in the floorI was put on the do not rent list after I had already paid for another day.literallythese two room service younger women have no compassion no empathy in the heart they threaten me took that they were going to call the police on me if I didn't pack up my stuff in 10 minutes by me being unaware that they were mad at me because my five Road I live right on the floor when I switched rooms and I even told them that I would vacuum and clean it up but I was never provided with any type of broom or any type of vacuumand let alone let me State they never clean my room I was there for 5 days and I asked for them to for room service they never did anythingthat the youngest one there is very very lucky that I have done a lot of work on Anger Management and understanding who I am insidenote this if I had been anybody else she needs to be lucky about what she says and what she does because I'm not like everyoneI tend to have more compassion than the average person because I am an empath butshe is literally risking her life by threatening me and threatening other people and screaming out profanities and cussing people out for no reason like she's on drugs,I will be reporting in this Motel to the health department and the inspection department because it was absolutely disgustingand I feel like I have...

This will be a very honest review! So when me and my boyfriend first walked in we instantly said it smells and looks clean and once we did some further looking besides a few little spots in the bath tub the room looked really good. The room only came with 3 pillows which had next to none fluff so I called the front desk to ask for 2 more and they said they can't guarantee it but will try which i thought was odd but said okay, we ended up just getting one pillow which wasn't enough so we had to go buy another pillow. There was only two outlets in the room one by the bed and one by the bathroom sink. First that's really annoying there's lamps all over but only one was plugged in because there wasn't enough outlets and we couldn't charge our phones close to us we had to charge them over by the bathroom sink. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on a rock. Also, there was no "do not disturb" sign the we could put on the door to let the maid service know not to come in which we both thought was really weird but of course not a deal breaker. All in all the room was nice and the location was GREAT, it was close to everything which was super nice. Now would we stay here again? I'd say no just simply because the bed was soooo uncomfortable for me but if you don't care about that then this motel...
