Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Austin

Ship-No Soo, well. Let’s start with the good. It was buy one get one free. And it was open at 4p. The donut is definitely a donut. So that’s good right?

If you want to feel like you got a taste of Austin and have a donut that creates an experience. This is a Ship-no. I wanted to believe all the good reviews. Maybe it would taste better in the microwave with a cold brew— tried it! And it’s still a no. Womp womp.

I love that the donuts were quick and edible but they taste like every other donut. Nothing hits the spot.

It’s like going on a work lunch trying to remember what you talked about with your coworkers. As soon as you get home, you forget because the only reason you were present during lunch— is because you were paid to be.

Hence that’s the reason I ate the second donut. I already spent my money on it.

Not sure if I should be grateful I gave the second dozen to the hotel front desk or embarrassed. Either way, I’m glad I don’t have to eat it. Hopefully round rock donuts...

I walked into the shop at 09:30am and the two cashiers at the front were being weird and trying very hard to look at the ground while taking my order. I asked if they had any fresh cake donuts as he was giving me the last two, he said no I said okay. Then he started walking in circles and grabbing at different donut trays before he brought me two yeast donuts and I said no just give me what I ordered. When I got home I had two blueberry cake donuts and two glazed. When I bit into the glazed I got a pungent moldy taste that got worse the more I chewed so I spat that out and tried the other glazed one and it had a regular taste. I called and let them know I received a blueberry donut instead of the plain that I ordered and he told me to “bring the blueberry donut back” and he will give me a new order 😭😭. I'm bringing the donut back but Ill just take a refund...

The people are very nice and they had a large selection (edit follows) - I don't know how you were able to edit my review and I really don't care, however I think it shows a serious lack of character. This is not what I posted, nor did I give you 5 stars. What I posted was that though I was impressed with the fact that the store was clean I was very disappointed with the service as the people inside did not seem to care about the counter as much as they did the drive-thru. I ordered a kolache and had to wait over 5 minutes for it to be brought to me at the front counter when I was the only one inside. When I stopped by a few days ago I stood around inside for about 3 minutes before finally leaving because I could not find anyone else in the store. As I was backing out I happened to see the cashier walk around the front with a confused look...
