Main issue : Club next door and noise till 6 am !! : Ok , so i did read reviews for this hotel and didn’t really pay attention to the dates of the last reviews and so it has been a year since anyone reviewed . Don’t make my mistake. Make sure you only read recent date reviews because no one warned me there is a club next door that you can hear all night and still going on at 5 : 24 am as I am writing this review. Lol ! Are you serious ?? Who opens past 3 am ? I was able to sleep through around 1 am since I was so sleepy but the noise woke me up at 5 am ! Now this is not the hotels fault but do not book here if you are a light sleeper. I was only there one night so I didn’t bother to move rooms. I did talk to the front and the guy was nice and said he will contact the 311 number and tell the owner to report that place bc they are supposed to be closed between 2 and 3 am. The music stopped at 6 30 am. Unbelievable. ||Exterior ; The surrounding area is not great. An abandoned house in front of the hotel, again , not the hotels fault , the fences are all old and look dated and bad. I will say the parking was sufficient and was towards the back so looked ok. ||Interior : Smallest breakfast room and lobby I have ever stayed at. The furniture looks dated and really old. I didn’t pay attention there either when I looked at the pictures. Breakfast was basic. At least they had 3 hot items - biscuit w gravy , eggs and sausage but they were very salty. The worst thing was the waffle maker . It’s broken ! The insides were still wet. We actually left it in there twice the time bc we wanted it to be crispy and it was still not done. Told the front desk he said he will have the company take a look. So the staff are courteous and unfortunately, their surroundings make it bad for the hotel. ||Beds are ok and looked clean. Bed was not hard so that was good. Queen size and that’s the main reason I booked here. The nicer hotels have double beds. I can’t do that - I had two people and too small for two. Bathrooms actually are ok. Surprised the tub and toilets were not bad. ||Location : Good. It was between Austin and Cedar where I had people I was visiting so you can go either way to see attractions and friends. That was another reason I booked here. Overall , Google Earth the hotel to make sure no clubs are next door !! ||Overall , it may be the choice hotels corporation fault for not updating the furniture and upkeep and the club next door is a disaster but the staff was courteous and I don’t want to rally them but just warning people of the...
Read moreDespite a rather unpleasant representation of a Comfort Inn & Suites room with a sketchy surrounding area, at this price range, there's not much 'room' to complain. We planned on staying at other hotels a little more North, but they were all booked. There was good customer service here and notable pros and cons for the rest of our stay. (There was loud music playing from somewhere nearby and loud vehicle noise from the freeways, but neither bothered us).
The customer service was good, no issues there at all. We checked in on a busy Thursday evening; lots of people came in due to the local winter power outages. Every experience we had with the front desk involved friendly, kind and understanding people! For example, while the gal was checking us in, my husband and the other front desk guy got a chance to connect on car stuff! The guy recognized my husband's Veloster N hat and my husband enjoyed the chat. Upon checkout, their morning staff were friendly and helpful as well.
Now our third-floor room: CONS - the room had a rubber/latex/ammonia smell to it, (could be many things, like the new bathtub and caulking in our room, any new paint, any cleaning products used, possible gas leak, possible dead rodent, possible heated wiring, etc), the middle layer curtains had brown stains, the curtains closest to the window had little dark spots (mold?), the headboards were greasy, parts of the main walls had splashes of orange stains on them, one of the pillows had faint pink stains underneath the pillowcase, a couple fruit flies came out of the sink overflow hole, the desk chair (see photo), and someone that can't park (see photo). They parked in a door-ding-safe spot and a Choice Privileges member reserved spot. PROS - the under window wall unit worked great keeping us warm and toasty while it freezed outside, the bed was comfortable, the shower and tub and tiling were brand spankin' new, there was an extra roll of toilet paper available, and the microwave and refrigerator were very clean inside.
Would we stay here again? No. Not unless our other options were unavailable again. FYI - you get what...
Read moreBEWARE OF THE BAIT&SWITCH!!! So Where do I start? So first of all I am a returning customer to this location! I booked on booking.com showed up, checked in they accepted my money we filled out all the paperwork and after that was done the lady at the desk said “oh by the way it’s a $150 deposit” we told her we did not have the deposit and then her GM (supposedly) claimed that there was nothing they could do and would refund our money for ONE NIGHT! we had booked for two nights so after that I was livid! I felt that they bait & switched us and took advantage of me and my girlfriend! Luckily I called corporate and made sure I would be refunded for the full amount that was paid, but it was just crazy to me that she literally tried to claim she was only going to pay us back for one night??? Because of there lack of communication!! I have stayed at this location before and never have been asked to put a $150 deposit!!! Which is also WAYYYY too much (in my opinion) but the GM (Marcia or whatever her name was) was extremely rude and was talking very disrespectfully to my girlfriend & I. Extremely unprofessional!! Luckily we had money to book at the Hampton inn across the street which is a wayyy better/cleaner facility for about $25 more than what we paid at comfort inn! With only a $30 deposit!!! HA lol but just to think if that was all the money we had we would of been stranded in a city that we are not from!!! When they return money it doesn’t go back onto your card immediately, it could take up to 14 business days and we don’t have time to wait for that!!! But like I said luckily we were able to afford to get another room! But I don’t think Marcia was very concerned about if we had to sleep in a car that night or not. I WILL NEVER give this hotel business again! Corporate did try to make things right by offering me a free night at another location so I do appreciate this but I will never spend another dime at this facility.STAY FAR AWAY THEY HAVE BETTER HOTELS FOR...
