My wife and I used to order from here regularly given that it was so close to our apartment and pretty good and healthy. However I had an experience with one of the managers in-store that made me cancel our subscription and never want to return.
I ran in to pick up our food one day a day late because I was slammed with stuff to do, and there was a manager in there that I've never seen before. I think she may have been a regional manager because she was dressed different and seemed to be bossy with the employees (seemed mostly normal but she was a little over the top, like a slight cartoonization of a person). She soon came over to me and asked what my name was and she went to get the food. She saw the ticket was from the day before, and I guess forgot that I was a customer and not an employee, and aggressively asked why I didn't pick up the order the day before. I just looked at her and told her I had been very busy and wasn't able to pick up the food, obviously a bit annoyed. I think at that point she realized I was a customer and not an employee and her expression went from annoyed to blank and wouldn't make eye contact with me. I just sat there looking at her waiting for a response, but she just handed me my food and didn't say anything else and I left.
So I just want to say that this was a relatively minor situation that I wouldn't normally care about as much. But I can't help but think that if she treated me that way, even by accident, she definitely treats the employees that way. What's worse is there is a lot of food here I've considered going back for, but every time I think about it I remember this situation and decide on other options instead. Maybe again one day when I'm looking to get some food and also get into an uncomfortable confrontation, but that'll probably...
Read moreHello All,
I have recently started purchasing my meals from Snap Kitchen, since MyFitFoods randomly closed down? I use the very convenient app to place my orders and pay for my meals ahead of time, thus making it quick and easy to pick my meals up when my work schedule allows. I have never had any problems with this method until today.
I ordered/paid for my meals on the app and then picked them up on my lunch break. When I got back to work I noticed all the meals packaged in the bag were mediums when I ordered/paid for larges as well. I immediately call the location (Research) and explain what happened. The employee I spoke with remembered me and understood the inconvenience this was. He told me he would comp the incorrect meal and have a large waiting for pickup at the store whenever I could drop by.
I went by after work to pick them up and there was a new shift of employees working. Of course they had no idea what I was talking about. Long story short, one of the two employees working accused me of trying to take free meals, cursed at me, refused to give me corporates number and his name, suggested I was at the wrong Snap location, and insisted on me just purchasing more meals ( all in front of the other employee and customers ). He even had me describe the employees and what they looked like because he was trying to convince me I was at the wrong place...
I am EXTREMELY offended and shocked that this even happened and in front of other customers and his co-worker. I have had good experiences there and now I have had an awful experience there. Extremely...
Read moreI'm on a Snap Pass plan and I buy meals for me and my family here every week. I work a challenging job and rarely have time or energy to cook, so being able to get fresh gluten-free meals that I can just heat in the microwave is hugely helpful! The quality is better than similar fresh meals I've gotten from grocery stores -- Snap Kitchen meals don't have the weird preservatives and chemicals that grocery store kitchens tend to use. We've recently enjoyed the pumpkin pancakes, shrimp and grits, maple dijon chicken, and harvest salad. The free bonus snacks I get as a Snap Pass member don't hurt either!
My one complaint (as I notice has been mentioned in other reviews) is that the chicken can sometimes be overcooked if I microwave it for the recommended time. I've taken to checking the chicken before microwaving it -- if it's already fully cooked, I lessen the heating time. Making sure chicken is fully cooked is a food safety issue, so I can see how Snap Kitchen might be erring on the side of caution, but it might help to adjust the heating times on the chicken dishes.
In general, this is a...
