I came into town June the 10th having car issues, it was a total nightmare. I thought I had booked at the other, Soneta down the street(Sonesta Simply Suites). I was having overheating issues, so I was driving with the heat on and it already felt like 100° outside. I arrived at the wrong one, but they were so sympathetic when they saw me covered in sweat and my makeup was running down my face. First thing the lady did was offer me a bottle of Water or Gatorade, that they would normally charge customers to buy. They didn't charge me for the bottled water, she gave it to me free. So she goes to her computer to type in my name, and see that there's no reservation under my name, she says you're probably booked at the one up the street, lordt😨 So now I arrive to the right one now, Sonesta ES. The moment I walked in all ladies behind the counter, I believe it was 2 or 3 just gave me the nastiest look ever, like I pooped in their cereal. 😡 I explained to them that I was traveling from out of town, that I ended up having car issues on the road and I had to drive with the heat on. I also mentioned I went to wrong(Sonesta). I told them I may need to stay another day, and just the way they said it was rude as hell, we're booked and be out by 11. They said it just like that. I understand being over booked, but they're mannerism "professionalism" went out the door on how they spoke to me. So they put around the corner down the hall. First thing I hear is thumping, I'm thinking are they doing construction, but I hop in the shower. So after hour I'm still hearing thumping, then I'm hearing screaming like it's little kids. I called front desk to tell them about the thumping above, which continued the whole time. I just didn't complain about it. Also I'm drained from driving out of town, the overheating of the car and driving with the heat on. About 9 something at night the fire alarm started going off, I'm like what the hell supposedly it was going off due to the 4th floor electrical room. My main issue here is about the customer service, the way they looked at me with discust, and their tone was atrocious! I did call the other, Sonesta Simply Suites that was so sweet to me, told them how this place talked to me and told me to be out by 11:00 and if they could take me in tomorrow morning at 11:00. Even though that they were fully booked, they made a way and reserved me for 2days.. They are sweet over there, and they were very...
Read moreWe stayed at the Staybridge during the Christmas Holiday season to visit family in the Austin and Round Rock area. We came children and gifts in tow to enjoy a long awaited visit with our family. Christmas morning we got up to exchange gifts and noticed a few things were missing. As we conducted an inventory of presents we noticed certain items where not in the luggage that we used to hide items from the little ones. In total 4-5 gifts (mostly children's items) were taken from the two rooms that we stayed in during our visit. We complained to the front desk. I felt horrible because I told my daughter to make sure she left cash in the room daily for the maids. The front desk referred the issue to their insurance company. We both noticed that they did not seem to be surprised that this kind of thing could happen at their hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THE STAYBRIDGE SUITES, 10201 Stonelake Boulevard, unless you plan to take your belongings with you each time you leave the room. The most disparaging aspect of it all was that we left nice tips each day, and that they had to actually go through our luggage to find our valuables to steal. I was totally disgusted and never heard from their insurance agency. The last time I called I said that I was going to call the police and file a complaint. The female manager told me to do what ever I thought I had to do. Hummmmm, sounds like an inside deal to me. Disappointed, discouraged, and totally pissed off I let it go. There was a thief among us. By the way, they watch you every time you come and go, that is the set up. I am just so happy that I took my credit cards with me every time I left the hotel. I gave them 1-star because it would not let me submit my comments to warn others about the illegal dirty work happening at the Staybridge Suites, 10201 Stonelake Boulevard, Austin,...
Read moreI booked this hotel in Austin through Priceline for nearly $200, and unfortunately it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The photos online looked much nicer than what I encountered in person. When I arrived, there was dog poop in the second-floor hallway, and when I mentioned it, the staff just shrugged it off with, “Sorry, we have dogs here.” On top of that, there was no air conditioning past the first floor, making the upper levels hot and uncomfortable.
As I walked around trying to find my room (230), multiple doors closed behind me, which made me feel uneasy and unsafe. I never actually found my room or saw the inside, but by then I had seen enough of the property to know I needed to leave.
When I asked about a refund, the hotel made it clear they couldn’t do anything since I booked through a third party (Priceline). I understand their policies, but there was no real effort to make things right. The only gesture I received was a small care package of snacks from the front desk clerk while I waited outside for an Uber to take me to a different hotel.
After leaving, I looked back at reviews and realized I had missed warnings about cockroaches and poor room conditions. I had already been second-guessing my booking but decided to give the place a chance.
I truly hope this isn’t everyone’s experience, and that the hotel can turn things around, but I would strongly recommend reading the reviews carefully before booking. For me, this stay was unsafe, uncomfortable, and ultimately a waste of...
