I just got food from Sonic 5736 on Parmer Lane in Austin. Worst experience I've ever had at a Sonic. I ordered in a stall. The person I spoke to had a really hard time getting the order correct, and I had to repeat it several times. I ordered a #9 footlong hotdog with a large chili cheese tots, Rt 44 cherry limeade with extra cherry, pretzel twist, and a small ched r peppers. I was a little concerned that the order wasn't on the screen and even more concerned when the person gave me my total and the red button was still flashing. I worried that meant she had put my order in on the wrong stall. That was at 6:51 pm. Then I waited. And waited. I saw that my order was being made and clicked the pay icon on the screen to pay. I paid with my card and waited some more. About 20 minutes later a girl brought me an order. Not my order. She left. 5 minutes later she came back asking was I sure it wasn't my order. I told her no, I had a hotdog, not a burger. She left again. 5 minutes later she brought my food. Not that it took 30 minutes to get the food. Then she said that I needed to pay for the food. I told her I had already paid. She said the manager told her I needed to pay. I said, maybe I paid for that meal you kept bringing me. Can you refund me that cost and charge me for this meal? She said she would ask. She came back and said it was all good and I could go as I had paid. Except the meal I paid for was $20.36 and my receipt was for $17.22. Then I got home and found that they never put in my hotdog. I had everything but the hotdog. Worst Sonic in the world. It took a half hour to get the wrong food and be overcharged for it. Not only that, the food was cold by the time I got it and the pretzel was burned. Update 05/10/25: I tried using the Sonic online complaint form and it was an hour wait for an agent to chat with me. That is unacceptable. No one has an hour to waste sitting by a computer to chat with an agent. At this point I wonder how much financial trouble Sonic is in.

Visited this establishment's drive thru on June 18th. The employee on the headset was the rudest individual I've ever come across. Let me preface this by saying I'm not one who just goes and gives reviews when I have bad experiences. In fact, go to the Taco Bell's website that's across the street and you'll see my honest reflection of their SUPERB customer service many many times. That manager has his stuff together and the crew, many of whom are much younger than this woman was, are always very respectful and pleasant. I drove up to the speaker and waited a couple of minutes before I'm even acknowledged. The acknowledgment I get... "what do you want". I said "excuse me" certainly sure that I misunderstood and she said it in an even nastier tone "what do you want". So I presented my order... she said "WHAT?!" and so, honestly baffled, I composed my urge to snap on this person and repeated it.... she then made a point of correcting my pronunciation of the word caramel as if saying carmel was just so hard to understand to warrant her response. Yes, I know it's caramel, but I'm from the midwest and that's how we say it. lol And then I get to the window...still no greeting, smile, or reflection of humanity in any way when she snorted the total at me and took my card. She went away for a good 5 minutes and then came back and shoved my son's CARAMEL shake into my presence and walked off. She grabbed the rest of my order from her colleague, presented it to me in the same fashion as the shake, and slammed the drive thru door window and proceed to respond to the next customer the same way. Certainly she was trying to get fired. Collect unemployment maybe? Who knows...the absolute WORST. Will never, and I mean NEVER go here again. My lord people. Hate your job? Go get a new one. Sheesh.

I stopped at this Sonic's by chance. It was one of those bad days that I usually have, especially when I go see my good friend jose. I drove 49 minutes to go help him out with a ride some where. As usual when I get there he expects me to have something that I don't have and go buy him something that I don't have money for. He was really drunk and on other stuff and wasn't looking to good. So I decided to offer him a meal. He expected, and We ended up driving down the street to the first place we ran across. And I'm telling y'all this Sonic's was 🔥🔥🔥. Food came out looking perfect like from a commercial. It was warm and fresh. The ppl working there where really nice. I would definitely go back there.

I’ll freely admit I messed up my online order. When I pulled in, I hit the red button to change my order and even said I was willing to pay for anything that was extra. The girl at the speaker was so sweet and seemed to understand what I wanted but informed me that my LG tots (originally a MED fry) would cost extra. Totally understandable. I had to also change a RT44 Diet Coke to a RT44 Dr P with Vanilla. She rang it up as the LG tot AND an extra drink. Hit the button again to let her know the only extra I should be charged on the drink is the vanilla flavoring. However, instead of the nice girl I got originally, she was replaced by a guy (later I think his name was Alex/Alexander or something like that) who was the rudest and most infuriating fast food worker I had ever encountered. He gets on the speaker and asks “How can I help you?” I let him know about the mix up on the order and he keeps going “Huh?” or “Wait your order is wrong?” and I try to explain it to him again. I get no response and the red light turns off. I had let the first girl know that I now needed to add some ice creams for my family. She let me know that I’d need to place a new order and I was totally fine with that. I press the button again so I can order my ice creams and wait about 5-7 minutes before the guy comes back on and asks “So wait, what was the name for the order?” I let him know the name on the order and that I need to change it (like I had originally told the first girl). He asks what I need to change and I tell him what needs to be changed (I had accidentally ordered basically two of my order which was the bacon double cheese burger plain with extra cheese and ketchup and I just needed to change one of the combos).

I will freely admit that the orders were completely different. My order was the Bacon Double Cheeseburger plain with extra cheese and extra ketchup with a Med Fry and RT44 Diet Coke whereas my boyfriend (the second burger) wanted the Jalapeño Double Cheeseburger exactly as it comes with Lg Tots and RT44 Vanilla Dr Pepper.

So, I finish explaining the change to the order (which I had already explained to the first girl) and he stops me and goes “But the order says…” and I stop him and tell him I know what the order says that’s why I needed to change it. I get no response and have still yet to order my ice cream. Some time passes and I end up ordering the ice cream on the app to make it easier and on the app it says to push the button again bc I had multiple orders. I press it. A few minutes later the girl comes out with my first order with the food and sodas comes out with no drink carrier (I specifically asked for one) and I let her know about the ice creams and that I need a drink carrier. She takes the drinks back inside and I start looking through the burgers. Two are correct. The 3rd (my boyfriend’s burger) is wrong. There were no jalapeños. I’m realizing this as the guy comes on the speaker and all I say is “My order is wrong” and he doesn’t respond and turns the light off. Girl eventually comes back with the ice creams and drinks in the drink carrier and I explain that the burger has no jalapeños. She says she’ll let her manager know. She comes back a few minutes later with a fixed burger and tells me that he (Alex or what’s-his-face) made the burger with no jalapeños. Specifically no jalapeños. Which in my mind I’m like who in their right mind orders a jalapeño burger with no jalapeños. Like make it make sense. I said to make it exactly how it comes on the menu. (I found out once I got home from my bf who used to work at sonic that the burger was in fact not how it came on the menu but that the guy just made some other burger and slapped jalapeños on it expecting me not to notice. 🙄) So I check the burger she just hands me and it’s good but the guy was so rude I needed to make...

If I could leave a zero stars I would I just drove back from that location to let them know that on Wednesday when I had a full day in the office and my kids were schooling from home that I had ordered via GrubHub three cheeseburgers two large fries and two large sweet teas and only one cheeseburger two large fries and two large sweet tea’s arrived there were two whole double cheeseburgers missing from this order I contacted GrubHub who advised me to reach out to the restaurant since the delivery driver only delivered what was in the bag I didn’t have time to go to the sonic near my house until today its Saturday because I was busy at work working until after 6 PM each day and then busy with my kids in the evenings with school work and dinner etc. So I go up to the sonic less than 10 minutes ago I was up there they told me to pull forward and in a nutshell they told me sorry we can’t help you it’s not the cheeseburgers that I was looking to get for free I told them that I was going to order more food as well but I basically just wanted to two double cheeseburgers that I had paid for last Wednesday and the receipt clearly says that they are in the bag and they were not in the bag and sonic wouldn’t replace them for me The general manager didn’t even have the decency to come out and tell me themselves they sent one of their workers to come out and tell me that they couldn’t help me I told the worker that customer service or at least good customer service consists of two things 1. going above and beyond and 2.making it right and the sonic failed miserably I work in customer service and I know what it means to provide excellent customer service this sonic isn’t even mediocre they are well below mediocre It’s so sad and stupid of them that they would rather someone leave a negative review on Google then to go ahead and replace the missing items that the customer paid for even when the customer said to them I want to pay for more food I want to buy more food but I would just like the two missing cheeseburgers that I paid for on Wednesday that were not in the bag I even showed up to the restaurant with the bag that was delivered from GrubHub with the receipt attached to the bag that said there should have been three cheeseburgers in that bag yet only one arrived I showed up with evidence I gave them my name I gave them all the information they needed I was a regular at this restaurant because it was convenient near my house I will never go back there again. This neighborhood has three cheeseburger restaurants within 10 second vicinities of each other Whataburger, In and Out Burger is just one stoplight away and both are 1 million times better than sonic i’ll be going to either of those from now on even McDonald’s is right next-door to sonic I’d rather go there Stupid stupid general manager to say the least especially when you know that your customer has options but your customer made the choice to choose your...

I wish I could give this location a higher rating but they really don’t have any redeeming qualities.

I would not recommend ordering through the app, through any online delivery services or waiting in the drive in area!! If you really want an ice cream treat you would have better luck going across the street to the baskin robins or even the McDonald’s next door. They are usually “out of ice cream” or take 30+ minutes to deliver.

I once ordered 2 chili dogs through Uber and only received one, but paid for two and when I called the location they insisted I only only ordered one even though the total amount I paid for was two. I originally just wanted to receive my chilidog but I was so disappointed with the costumer service I didn’t return for a couple weeks...

now because it is close by and I love sonic (usually) I did return and when I did I waited about 10 minutes in the drive-in for someone to notice (nobody responded) so I had the bright idea to order through the app, which was a mistake but I was DETERMINED to get a milkshake.. I ordered and pressed the little button saying I was there which only took about 5 minutes that time for them to notice, they seemed confused (maybe defeated that I managed to put in an order) BUT THE JOKE WAS ON ME, about 45 minutes into the visit I finally pushed the red button again to ask about my milkshake they were completely confused and I guess just made two generic milkshakes which the walker refused to take so I got out of the car and knocked on the door and I was handed two plain milkshakes and a couple coupons... BUT THAT WASNT THE END OF THIS ADVENTURE. I DID NOT WAIT AN HOUR FOR A BASIC MILKSHAKE!! I ended up going through the drive thru and reordered the exact same thing and in about 5 minutes we got the correct order... so the reason this was a 1 Star experience is because NOBODY should have to wait an hour for a sonic milkshake and NOBODY should hand out random food!!

Avoid this location if you can, if there’s a higher up reading this review, PLEASE MAKE THIS...
