I'm an avid Tacodeli lover and very excited to see this one join S.Lamar. I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience this morning. I ordered 2 separate orders totalling $40.
The first order was Bean & Cheese (it was fine), Freakin Vegan (so sad, there was a piece of an avocado that was 1/4" big for the entire taco & maybe .5 tsp of Pico), Egg, Potato & Cheese (the order got rang in wrong and I didn't can't it, so I was pretty disappointed - when I repeated my order 2x to get Beans, potato & cheese. But it was edible).
The second set of tacos. Egg, Potato, Cheese & Sirloin ( had maybe a Tsp of Barbacoa so not only was the wrong meat but also a very very small portion for over $5), Egg, Potato, Cheese, Bacon (No Bacon at all, also over $5), Egg, potato, cheese & sausage (had 2 tiny asprin size pieces of sausage. Also over $5)
Just overall incredibly disappointing for the price and value of the food I received. Everyone working was nice but the lady on the expo was chatting the entire time with the line as they were preparing food so it appeared nobody was really paying attention - I think this could have been a factor of the food being poorly made and made incorrectly. They also kept chatting even when food was in the window while I stood waiting. I'm all for talking to eachother but not when you should be reading tickets to prepare food items and getting the food out of the window in a timely fashion. Letting a customers food die in the window is just poor form especially when they can see you doing it. I'm incredibly sad and I hope that things get better at this location. But I do have a pretty bad taste in my...
Read moreI've given this place 3 chances and they've all been total flops. First day they opened, we got guacamole that was so spicy that it was inedible. Both myself and partner thought it was terrible and we normally love Taco Deli. We assumed this was grand opening stuff and they would get it sorted. I back with two friends and my friend again got the terrible guacamole. So this is their thing. When my friend gave her bowl back as inedible, the girl working there actually said "yeah we get a lot of complaints." Okay fine, noted not to order the guacamole at this location. Today, I favored 3 avocado and bean tacos. The avocado (like maybe an inch in each taco) was so tiny and the beans were soupy. So it tasted like eating black bean soap in a taco. Three strikes and you're out. I'll drive a bit further to the spyglass location when/if I get interested again. I should also say I've been living here 17 years and never had a bad experience at the one downtown, spyglass or even the airport. These must be separate owners. Note to owner: you lose more money in the long run trying to give tiny bits of avocadoes and diluting beans. You've lost our business permanently and we live super close by. This location is already trending with much lower reviews and I have seen no response from management looking to make it right on the other...
Read moreI can't believe I have not written a review here yet. LOVE Tacodeli. We eat here often and bring it it for work all the time- Taco Thursdays lol Everyone loves Taco Thursday. The food here is consistent (in a good way) and the salsas are incredible. They have a range of different heats on the salsa all are fantastic. The Freakin' Vegan and the Pollo Fantastico are my favorites for lunch. For breakfast the Jess Special and Vaquero are my breakfast favorites though I don't go often for breakfast admittedly but when I do, that is what I get and love it. The flour tacos are not too thick and not too thin where they tear. I like that they don't try to put too many things into the tacos or make it too wild- they put just enough different things and it perfectly paired combos- you don't have to have 25 ingredients to have a good taco. IMO. This location has a great patio that is covered as well as tables inside. Everyone is always very friendly and happy (the staff). Excellent to go- never had it not be ready at the time frame. Only "pro tip" if getting to go is make sure the salsa is in the bag, sometimes they forget...
