On October 4, 2023, I placed an order with Watts-That Soul Food & More, which included two pork chops, mac n' cheese, a slice of 7-up cake, and a piece of cornbread. I utilized Grub Hub for delivery, and the total cost was $38.20.

At BEST, with the utmost generosity, and benevolence I would rate this entire meal as a two-star experience. To clarify, a two-star rating from me implies that I wouldn't be left starving, as I did have this meal to consume.

The pork chops, despite there being two of them, lacked any discernible flavor. It seemed as though someone in the kitchen hastily coated them with flour and fried them up without much thought. The only redeeming quality was that they were served hot.

The mac n' cheese failed to impress and didn't even match up to the quality of Velveeta Shells n' Cream. I've even had better mac n' cheese from the classic blue Kraft box. This dish was as dry as the desert crossed by the Israelites fleeing Egypt from Pharaoh!

The cornbread felt like an afterthought, a dry and unremarkable addition to the order. Its texture was reminiscent of something used to prop a door open. I'm left wondering whether this was just an off night for the restaurant or if this is the standard for "soul food" establishments in Austin, Texas. It certainly made me question whether this could truly be considered soul food. The cake was “ok”. I mean it wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t good enough to save this meal. If you are in the Austin TX area and have a hankering for soul food, I would suggest going to Chick FIl A...

I tried this place for the first time this week. The owner gave me a good overview of the menu and food and helped me pick something yummy. Very friendly.

I’ve spent a lot of time in NOLA and have been craving some real Southern food. I got the fried pork chops, beans, cornbread, greens, and corn on the cob.

The chops were really crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I liked the addition of pickles and spicy sauce as well. Collards were cooked to perfection, tender and full of pork flavor but with plenty of crisp texture. Not mushy at all. The beans were similarly well done with a rich, flavorful sauce and great texture.

I was dubious about the cornbread because it was in muffin form and I was worried it might be like a Texas sweet corn muffin but it was perfect. It wasn’t too sweet and crumbled the way cornbread is supposed to. Perfection!

My only criticism is that both the greens and the beans were way too salty for my taste. A slightly lighter hand with the salt would have made this meal perfect. The sweetness of the corn on the cob and the nice cornbread helped a bit with the saltiness of the sides but it wasn’t quite enough to allow me to eat all of the sides.

I’ll be back to try some of...

All I wanted was some goddam chicken wings on the first NFL Sunday, but Watts that food truck had to bend me over and give me the ole one two magoo. If I could give it 0 I would. I’m not the type to go out of my way to give a bad review because I know how detrimental they can be to a small business, but wow do not eat here. Worst end to end food experience of all time. Paid $60, waited an hour, and their “made to order” chicken was the worst quality I’ve ever encountered. You’ll pay premium price for sides that are store bought. Velveta mac n cheese, HEB cornbread, 0 flavor. Over priced is an understatement. Eat at the little orange yellow taco truck instead, straight deliciousness. Also, chicken gave me some nasty nasty Hershey squirts on the toilet, so bad. Do not eat here, whoever gave it 5 stars doesn’t know food. Wouldn’t give this...

I regret going to this food truck. đŸ˜© I highly recommend you avoid this food truck at all costs. The best thing they have to offer is Kool aide. For starters the guy that works there had to come out and explain the menu to us. That was red flag 😳 number one. Half the stuff on the menu they didn't have in stock. I decided to order a chicken wing plate with macaroni and cheese and cabbage. When I asked her for the two wing plate she informed that it wasn't two whole wings that it was wingettes and drumettes that equaled to two whole wings. Please update your menu with what you have on hand. The wings weren't seasoned at all and the cabbage barely had any seasoning on them. The macaroni and cheese came out a box. Velveta shells and cheese is what they had the audacity to serve me. Wouldn't recommend at all.
