dadaLab is one of these weird artistic spots that really keeps Austin weird.
Note: they do have events here that they don't house themselves occasionally, so you cannot judge this place based on a non-standard event. This review comes from having been there a number of times at different events.
They have all around the room projection which some people might call 3D projection, and perhaps some of it does have some 3D elements. Each of their events has a bit of production with some kind of music. Usually some kind of artsy weird electronic DJs, usually stuff you can groove or dance to.
They have a few regular events, one weekly and one monthly: Mer mer mo Monday, I think is every Monday Expanded-drawing.com, I think is every first Friday of the month. Once a month.
Definitely a spot worth checking out and going to support once in awhile. They usually have something like a $5 cover so that's pretty nice. And I think it's fine to BYO there. But they've got you covered either way.
They have outdoor space. You can hang out around outside, or inside with the music and the grooves. Parking is usually on the street around the corner, so you might have to walk a couple blocks If there are a lot of folks there that night. That said, you should be able to find free...
