Soooo wow. Where 2 begin? The line was suuuuuper long....the boy working the drive thru was very quiet....exhibiting zero customer service skills. After finally arriving at the drive-thru window I pay 4 my food with my credit card & afterwards my mom asked 4 some Honey Mustard. He quipped: "It's gonna be 48 cents." I say " 'That's fine - one sec plz. We hafta dig here-lol". Him? Nothing. Blank stare. 1/2 a min later we give him 40 cents & I just couldn't help myself, plus I wondered if I could elicit some type of emotion so I made a desperate attempt with a cheesy joke ☆ Keep the change..it's my 2 cents worth ☆ Nothing. Just a look + a turn & walkaway! A little surprised, & now with mouth watering 4 my onion rings, I drive off & totally forget about the H.M. sauce I just paid for-but alas... A reaction!!! He's actually leaning out the drive thru window shouting after me as the car behind me quickly pulls 4ward-starving by now I'm sure. Seriously-no exaggeration-we were there for 30 minutes minimum. Anyways, I pulled to the front & stopped...& waited & waited & waited. I could see straight thru to the worker area behind the counter & saw him several times...thinking he'd bring me my sauce. Nothing. Even other workers were oblivious. I figured they'd see me but wishful thinking. I finally get out & bang on the door when I see him again. He looks up...sees me & turns away!!! But-He does return & begins slowly walking 2wards me. He unlocks the door & hands me the sauce without saying a word. (Not surprised) so I reciprocate. I just stand there, sauce in hand, & watch incredulously as he locks the door, turns & disappears behind the wall. I feel as if I'm in sum time warp in a land of no words where I'm barely visible & unworthy of words. Definitely awkward. In retrospect...this could've allll been alleviated had he taken initiative (used his brain) & gone to retrieve the sauce whilst my mom & I went on our little scavenger hunt for cash. Hey. The food was good but the service, speed & attentiveness have much room 4 improvement. Thanks 4...
Read moreI am just…disturbed by this whataburger. Went there after a concert. They had a very normal amount of people in the restaurant and the drive thru. The cashier was beyond rude. There’s a way you handle things with customers, you need to be professional. I asked for water and she huffed at me and said “we don’t do water bottles, I will give you a cup though. It’s right there.” Then after waiting around for 20 minutes as food just kept piling up behind the counter, I went up to the counter to ask about my order. I was not rude about it as I understand things can get backed up and crazy with the drive thru. I have worked in service jobs before. But the cashier was nasty to me and said “you see this food here? You’ll get it when you get it.” That’s not how you treat people. Plus, there was a homeless couple in the restaurant and one of the women started to scream curse words at everybody. That is not the fault of whataburger obviously. But the lazy manager sent out an employee to go handle the situation, and this employee obviously wasn’t trained to do this. How horrible of a manager do you have to be to do that??? Plus he ended up texting on his phone the whole time instead of helping any of the staff with the food backing up!??? He also went on a break while people were waiting for food and left wrappers all over the table and seats. THE MANAGER DID THIS. Multiple people ended up just asking for refunds because it took forever and when the food did come out, it was all wrong. The staff calling out order numbers just kept mumbling the numbers so no one knew what number she was saying. So incredibly disorganized and crazy and unprofessional. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a whataburger. Usually I have 5 star experiences there. This location is trash and a terrible example of Whataburger.
Horrible location, horribly run, and horrible staff. At least Whataburger is a good...
Read moreThis Whataburger added a 24/7 Parking Lot Security system about 2 weeks ago from this company called LiveView Technologies (LVT). https://www.lvt.com/hardware/parking-lot-security
The 'security' aka Big Brother system is parked in their lot and never moves. It is solar paneled and has several cameras recording and speakers playing, for some reason, loud music. I live several blocks away and can still hear the music that this device plays, which is some horrible blend of opera (for example: Galop Infernal - Jacques Offenbach). It can be heard blocks away at all hours of the day and night--literally, as LVT advertises, 24/7.
On 9/9/24, I personally called and spoke with Alejandro, the Whataburger systems manager, to inquire as to why this Whataburger location was blasting music this loudly and in violation of city noise ordinances. His explanation was that Whataburger (via Ruben Olivas, Director of Asset Protection) is conducting a trial program of deterring unhoused people who frequent the Whataburger parking lot. Alejandro said that Whataburger was "aware of the noise complaints" but that they were still "trying to find a solution."
He seemed nonplussed that residents living nearby were affected by the noise. This is now a quality of life issue. Residents living close by are unable to live in peace as the music is unrelenting. Further, Whataburger seems to have a lack of concern pertaining to repeated noise violations and incurring the ire of residents; all because the establishment has a problem with unhoused individuals in their parking lot.
For a proud Texas brand, this is beyond enraging and disturbing. I'd like to know why Whataburger, a 3+ billion dollar company, doesn't invest that money in helping people and providing good service, as opposed to torturing the entire Zilker...
