Wow...so I have been to so many events at the Long Center that I can't believe I haven't reviewed this fantastic downtown Austin venue until now!

This fabulous venue is so mutli-faceted it is incredible! The plethora of events they host run a spectrum that very few other venues can boast!

I have been to: -Broadway Shows -Local Theater Productions -Private Party Rental Space -International Culture Shows -USA World Cup Viewing Party -Summer Movie Series -Food Truck Trailer Tuesdays -Master Pancake Viewing Party -Swanky Fundraisers -Their Open House showcasing the many ways they use this facility

Seriously, this venue has everything and anything that is art or culturally relevant to Austin and also has one of the best views of the skyline! It is just a fantastically stunning piece of architecture as well!

Even if you aren't coming to watch some sort of show here, you can come and cloudwatch from the sweeping lawn space in front of the terrace.

This is the most versatile event venue in the city and one of my favorite places! Again, my only gripe w/most places in dwntwn ATX is parking...unless you have a pretty penny to pay for valet or want to dish out some dollars for the adjacent parking garage, you have to parking spot scout on the side streets; if you do, allow yourself an extra 30mins...

I just left the worst audience I've ever been around. I went and paid 140 to listen about c s lewis. Should have started at 3:00 but nope since have the entitlement class didn't show up til later we had to wait til 3:20 which doors should have been locked at 3pm. Then they still was coming in 20 to 30 mins later with their flash lights on their phone. Then I got so lucky to set next to this guy that decided to check his phone a lot and ruffle paper around. He also needed to be the loudest laugh. Why do u need paper. I was shocked at the disrespect I can't even believe it. I'm glad I'm not the only one the man in front of me was becoming so upset also. We could only hear or pay attention to half of the show bc of this. What happen to being able to set still? If this is a problem stay home. The flash lights going off over and over through the whole thing. Bags being opened, zippers on purses, chit chatting like no one can be quiet or set still. Lock the doors at the time it's to start leave those ppl out bc those very same ppl were the problem like the man I got so blessed to set next to that showed up 30mins late and had paper work and cell phones to check. I had to get out there before I exploded. Never again I can't bc it's not like...

More like a 4.5… Nice! April 2025, never been here. Came to see Acro Cats! ❤️🐱

Rollins Theater is so intimate, with roomy seating and it’s nice and COOL (I run very 🥵!)…it looked so much bigger and with many more seats on the website when I chose seats and paid (a very easy procedure and I chose for my tickets to me mailed to me).

Seats are riser-style (but with nice chairs), so great views for all. No need to pay more…all seats are great; it’s very small (maybe we’re just in one section, walled off). If you wear 🤓, though, you’ll want them.

Outrageous parking (to me…$20), but I think it was available further away for half that, so just plan better than we did...but really the only reason for ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️…and it seems to be avoidable (though I can’t speak for a huge show or whatever else they do there).

Show was 7 pm on a Saturday and zero bad traffic (that certainly CAN happen, even on weekends) or crowds. Reggae Fest was across the street…Jah! No resulting crowds.

(Photos show the delightful show more than they do the facility…but there were no bad...

Watched the nutcracker here last december 2023. It was fantastic, the show itself was worth it! We arrived an 1.5 hour early before the show which gave us enough time to secure a parking spot in their garage. They had a small parking fee, I believe it was less than $15 (not so sure). From the garage, you will have to walk a decent distance maybe less than a mile to the building so I definitely would not recommend wearing super high heels. Plenty of stuff to do while waiting for the doors to open, they had a skating rink, cocoa stations and some small businesses that sell random crafts. They had 3 food trucks which was great since the only food options inside the centre were cookies and pretzels. Also plus a really nice view of the austin downtown sky line. Great date night for couples and families!

Having attended several operas and symphony performances here, I can attest that the Dell Hall in the Long Center has great acoustics and good sight lines. That is important. The seats are comfortable and the interior is stylish. There is a parking garage providing easy access in and out. There is not a sweeping lobby but there is a large outdoor plaza. This is not ideal in Texas. Sorry, but it is too hot most of the year to both dress up and wait outdoors. The exterior is nothing too grand or daring but the location setting is rather attractive. One criticism is the ubiquitous audience standing ovations. If the performances are truly that worthy of standing then the curtain calls and bravo shouts should last for 15 minutes or more and we should all rush the stage after such performances.
