Wedgewood Fernando's Pizza — Restaurant in Austintown

So sad to make this review as we order for our staff and for my own household every single week but yesterday was an unacceptable experience and so disheartening. We ordered our pizzas online at 9:30am to be delivered by 3:10pm. When the pizza arrived they were not gluten free which I myself as well as a couple staff members have gluten allergies that could hospitalize us. So when we called them to see if we could just get the pizza remade and I would rush over and pick them up prior to our event we needed them for which was in 40 minutes. They told me no I would just have to reorder the pizzas again and have them delivered. I explained that it wasn’t a delivery issue we just needed pizza that wouldn’t hospitalize us. They then stated because they overprice their pizzas on DoorDash they couldn’t remake the pizzas because there would be a price difference lol which I then reminded them I wasn’t asking for a refund I just wanted edible pizza. They then said they would figure it out and make us the pizza but when we went to pick it up they said “it will be done in 8 minutes” which turned into 15 and the whole time I stood there men behind the counter were staring and laughing at me. I finally left without food as I couldn’t take it anymore and we will not...

Previously, Wedgewood Pizza held a reputation as the best in the area, offering consistent quality and a pleasant dining or take-out experience. However, recent visits have revealed a decline in service and professionalism. During my last visit, multiple patrons, including myself, experienced delays due to food remakes. The atmosphere is marred by dysfunction, with audible conflicts between employees in both the kitchen and front of the house. A notable instance involved a woman, presumably one of Fernando's daughters, loudly berating staff.

The front-of-house team's evident discord, marked by cussing and insults, created an inappropriate environment. This unpleasant scene compelled me to send my 7-year-old outside to wait in the car.

Growing up near Wedgewood Park, I cherished the establishment's pizza as a staple. It's disheartening to witness the apparent decline in what was once a reliable and cherished institution. The low morale among staff, stemming from ownership's apparent disregard, has undoubtedly affected both the quality of food and service.

While I appreciate the complimentary meal provided tonight, regrettably, I won't be returning to...

3rd time in 2 months you've served me a pizza that was CLEARLY burnt and had to get refunded. I'm about done with this place if you don't figure out the problem.

You've gotten so big, do you even care? It doesn't feel like you do, anymore.

I called to let them know about the black, crunchy pizza and the nasty lady that answered the phone, got an attitude right off the bat, as if I was blaming her personally for their mistake. Maybe it was MY fault you burnt the pizza? She did not care in the least bit and the owner couldn't be bothered to talk.

Kills me to write this review because I've been a VERY regular customer for over 20 years. In fact, I don't order from anywhere else...ever.

Best pizza...ever...anywhere.

But this is the 3rd time in 2 months I've gotten a burnt pizza and one time the guy even tried to tell me that it was normal, as if it was the first time I've ever eaten there.
