Really awesome seafood restaurant! We were able to get a reservation fairly last minute on a week night but otherwise the place was packed. Drinks were pretty decent, forgot to take photos but they have a wide selection of cocktails, beers, wines and more. Food wise, highly recommend ordering the fire roasted oysters, they were absolutely incredible! Our entrees were all also very good- the scallops were delicious as was the flavor of the ahi tuna. Comes with soup or salad which were both decent (hard to mess up). Only complaint to be candid is the entree sides were steamed vegetables and a ton of rice with some butter added in but didn’t have a lot of flavor, albeit still good. A few people at my table ordered the sesame seared tuna, each was cooked at different levels, some more raw (as it should be) and some very cooked. Otherwise a great experience, our server (Kylie I think?) was super sweet and attentive.

We came via Open Table with a reservation. My youngest daughter had an acai bowl. She liked it. My other daughter had 2 eggs, two slices bacon, home fries, and toast. My husband had eggs Benedict, and I had The Chair Special. Everything was fine except my pancakes were obviously reheated as the middle of the bottom one was cold. I expect freshly made pancakes off the griddle, but maybe others don't care about reheated frozen pancakes. The service was very good.

To start, I’ve only sat at the bar here, but we’ve never had a bad experience. The servers are very quick and the cocktail list is fun and changes each season (the wife’s pineapple cosmo is attached). They usually have a Cape May brewing beer on tap too. They seem to have live music a lot during the summer too, which is a nice addition to the ambience.

I went to the Rock N Chair twice I during my week vacation in Avalon. The first time was for a family dinner. Not having any expectations for a good meal at the shore, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed my meal. My seafood was fresh and tasty; I had the calamari and fluke. Our waiter was great; friendly and attentive. The next time we went in was for drinks and small bites at the bar and had a different experience. The bar tender was not attentive, failing to refill our water glasses or pints for extended periods of time. At one point, both bar tenders disappeared for a good 5 minutes. Their mixed drinks were lacking: the "fresh" margarita (fresh lime juice listed on the menu) was made with Rose's lime juice. And, I'm not quite sure what I received when I ordered a Mojito. We ordered some happy hour bar snacks and they were just ok. Finally, the bill is quite steep for the quality...

If I could give 0/5 stars I would. Where to begin. Many issues with our meal, things were over cooked, wrong drinks were brought, waiter left prior to taking everyone’s order multiple times, and a plates was partially spilled on my family member. That being said the issue was had when these problems were brought to managements attention (who approached us we did not ask to speak with them). Management/owner was rude blamed us for issues with food, argued about service. And continued to yell to get her point across which basically was they were not at fault for any issues that occurred. This is an expensive restaurant and the food and service do not live up to the price. Go else where in Avalon there are wonderful spots with wonderful service and nice people who deserve your business. The Rock n Chair does not deserve...
