Romeo's Pizza — Restaurant in Avon Lake

This used to be our go to pizza place, but hadn't ordered from them for quite a while. Online ordering was easy, however the pick-up and food was not good. The staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, at times just looking around like they were lost. No order seemed to be ready on time while I waited, the ovens were backed up causing overcooked food to come out, and no one seemed to be doing anything with any speed or purpose. After then finally finding my order on the computer and me waiting around for 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, I had to ask if my order was done because they were just (slowly) putting up others but no one was checking them or passing them out. It was ready, and had been sitting on the shelf for about 5 minutes.

While the food wasn't terrible, it wasn't good either. The pizza crust tasted like cardboard and the chicken wings were some of the worst I've ever had from a pizza place, soft, chewy and generally not good. I doubt we'll order again, they are charging premium prices for food ($21 for a 2.5 topping large pizza, $15 for a large cheese pizza) that could easily be a $5 frozen pizza from the grocery store and some frozen wings you reheat...

the employees (I believe the manager is david) are by far the most impolite and audacious food industry employees I've ever encountered. I placed an order through ubereats and they made the entire order incorrectly. when I called them to 1. inform them of their total disregard of the order instructions, 2. to ensure if I replaced the order that they would follow the order as it was placed.

david threatened in a roundabout way, that if the order was placed directly through them, they could guarantee it would be done right, however a third party order they can't promise the order will be fulfilled to the right specifications. (so this pizza place basically doesn't want to deal with ubereats so they are making people's orders incorrect ON PURPOSE)

the icing on the cake is, my credit card company notified me, that romeo's tried to charge me the original full amount, after I was issued the refund (that I was rightfully owed) from ubereats for the total wrong order that they gave us. so not only are they rude, but they are also charging a customers credit card without authorization. felonious rude employees. FIRSTLY THIS JUST MY OUTLOOK ON THE PLACE GO TRY FOR YOURSELF. this place used to be so good when i worked there about 8 years ago or so. we took pride in pizza making! we were on point with customer service (in my opinion) as well as timeliness. we get it here and there when we want to switch up our pizza dinner for the week or whatever and it just does not hit like it used to. this isn’t the first time i’ve ordered here and sure won’t be the last lol but it’s not up to par. the ingredients are good it’s just they be throwing the sauce wherever. you get a piece that’s overloaded with sauce then the next its so dry. and the cheese is all over the place , dough is super thick and then super thin in areas. overall tastes okay. but not my first choice by any means. and the cheesesticks are always burnt. also do not expect the food to be ready lmao. customer service is great everyone’s super cool i just don’t feel their pizza game is doing too well the past few years but go make your...
