This isn't just my favorite patisserie, it's my favorite small business. I'll get to the food, because, trust me, its amazing, but the thing that pushes me to write a review is the owner and employees. These kids that work here are so professional and polite and the owner really cares about the kids that work here. She will close for bad weather, or if the AC is out, or for reasons you should close a business to protect the safety of its employees. And she can always be heard telling the employees what a good job they're doing. There are actually two owners but I'm just speaking of the one I see all the time. She always has a smile on her face and is talking to the customers and recommending what's good that day. She's just a ball of joy and I really enjoy seeing her there.

Also worth noting that this place has a great overall vibe. The decor is earthy, whimsical and relaxed. The music always matches the tone and is not too quiet or too loud. I think everyone that sits down feels relaxed too because strangers actually have nice conversations with each other (mostly starting with "wow, that looks good what is that?"). I appreciate the community feeling when my husband and I come here.

The food is fantastic. I can't say enough good things about it. They're frequently switching up the specials so there's always something new. But the staples are great too. They are very talented at what they do because French patisserie isn't easy, and there are almost no places around that specialize in French baking that have this high of quality and quantity of choices. Trust me I've been looking forever. I'd recommend trying something you haven't tried before because this is the type of place you won't be disappointed in whatever you get.

Bottom line - it's fantastic, women and minority owned, and you should give them...

Meh, there’s better at a lower price.

Edit: added the original reply from the owner so we’re on the same page.

I ordered: BouNom Roll Bacon Jalepano bite Southern sticky pecan Toad in the hole

The dough has a greasy feel and taste like shorting is being used in the dough instead of all butter. The bacon Jalapeno bite filling tasted really good like a jalapeno popper. The thin unflavored bacon took away from experience. The Southern sticky pecan roll tasted like it was missing a layer of sweet, like cream cheese frosting in additional to the regular topping to make it something special and southern. The Toad in the Hole was just ok. If I were making it at home, I would try harder to have a less cooked egg as is my preference but I get it that isn’t everyone’s preference. The total price ended up at $31. In comparison, I recently went to another establishment that has similar food; ordered 6 items, 2 chocolate croissants, 2 savory pastry items and 2 desert pastries and my total was $23.

My meh had better is because I truly can get better at a better price. I can see there is effort to do something great but its just not there for what is being charged. I have tried to share my experience and hope I have provided feedback that is valued more than what is deserved after the initial response I received. As a southerner who has received a lot of bless your hearts over his life, thank you. It makes me feel a little closer to home. Too bad the food...

The first time we tried to go there, everything was sold out, so they closed early. The second time, I made sure to order ahead prior to pick up. The place was so cute with a sit in area that had your typical cafe vibes. I was surprised there were items left when I went to pick up my order the next morning (Friday) at 11 am. Everything in the showcase looked mouthwatering. I admittedly plan to try everything haha. They sell French and southern inspired pastries. The story of their family immigrating from Laos to the US was similar to my family from Cambodia. It's inspiring to see them become successful! The prices were high but the products were quality; I think it's worth it.

I ordered an iced chai latte to go as well; this drink was good. I'm looking forward to trying their hand crafted lemonades next time. The showstoppers were the pastries. I ordered the cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissant, Southern sticky pecan buns, and egg in a hole.

The egg in the hole was amazing. I was only planning to take a bite since I already ate my lunch. I couldn't stop and ended up finishing it. It has egg, cheese, chives, and chopped ham/bacon in a croissant. The sticky pecan bun was buttery and sweet; the candied pecans had a sugary crunch to it; the most amazing sticky bun I've ever tasted. My husband had the cinnamon bun and said 10/10. Pro tip: put in microwave for 5-10 seconds, even better. In conclusion, I will be back sooner...
