Last Sunday my husband and I were going to stop in. We are both army veterans. I just got back from Germany in July after receiving an honorable discharge for my service and he is in the reserves. We parked in the parking lot and we're going to stop in after we looked at a car for sale (in the same parking lot) when a man from inside came out and yelled at us to leave. I tried to say something when he shut the door in my face. I walked around the building, walked inside and told the man we were both veterans and we were going to stop in. He replied "So, Leave."
Apparently if you're not a 90 year old veteran this place won't allow you in the building. As a former veteran and the current manager of a military 5013c nonprofit I am appalled. This place should be ashamed of themselves. It is disgusting how you treat our current military and former veterans that were looking to join.
These people are the rudest most unaccepting "veterans" I have ever come across.
I'll be sure to tell Fisher house, hero helpers, music drives us and Heartillery Group about the time of people in charge of such an establishment.

Read moreFood is great. Service and non military volunteer doing a lot for school drives, senior citizens functions. American Legion riders do rides, dinners to benefit Veterans, old and new. Visit the Soldiers home bringing donations. The post sponsors Easter lunches and have a Christmas tree for seniors in local nursing homes. We only asked them to write on a card what they would like for Christmas. We do a huge Thanksgiving brunch open to public. Big Christmas party for local kids.
